I would like to thank you so much for your information. The poking in the soil with a solid penetrable object was invaluable. My neighbor showed me where his clean out was located. Both homes are pretty similar and i figured since we have culverts in the front the drainage will probably be going that way. I got up this morning and utilized a long crochet hook to poke into soil and was able to find it in less than five minutes. I watched a couple videos prior to yours and no one recommended using a plumbing pole or rebar. So I dug around last night and missed. However happy with success of finding it this morning. And because of your information I saved around $250 for a plumber to bring out the snake camera to find it. That was the only location technique that the plumbers were willing to use in my case. What’s the difference between these and septic systems that have the concrete or plastic lid?

Kevin, thank you for your ?, the hidden sewer clean cap usually is for city sewer , where septic system that are not hooked up to the city system usually have the large concrete lids. God Bless

Thanks for the info. My house was built in 1983 and the city had a map showing where the cleanout is. Unfortunately its under the driveway concrete. I'm hesitant to break it up and not find it. Might have to pay a plumber to come in and find it.

I would double check this as I would find it hard to believe that they would pour the driveway over the clean out, also you might check the alley to see if you have a clean out there, also some cities I believe will add a clean out at the alley with out charging you. Very helpful, thanks for the walkthru. Going to give this a try. Found the gas and water lines going out to the street on one side of the house, going to give this a try to find the cleanout. If there's no cleanout and just the sewage pipe, would you recommend adding a cleanout? Similar difficulty to setting a T on a PVC pipe? Never worked with ABS before

I've used 3 different septic companies in the past 7 yrs and all have pumped through the manhole thing...but I think I have a clog between the septic tank and my house so I need to find the lid So I can snake the inlet pipe. My house has the old septic system, one tank and was built in 74
