    In Texas there is no difference between drain cleaning and plumbing really. We do both on a regular basis. May replace a water heater in the morning then go do 2-3 drain calls in the afternoon.

    I am starting a drain cleaning business in Kentucky. My insurance rep is trying to get me to purchase a "work completed" policy, which is about 8x more expensive than not having the "work completed" coverage. Do you feel that this is a necessity? Thanks.

    Yes you have to make money for providing a service but overcharging is a quick way to never get business from customers like me I am the customer who gets on the phone & calls other companies to price shop no I do t go with the cheapest company because I want it done correct but doing a good job at a reasonable price is well appreciated & respected & you will get word of moth referrals & repeat service if you don’t try & drain out the pockets of everyday 9-5 working middle class people. I had a company try & charge me 3000 for new field lines when I didn’t need new field lines lucky for me I called a friend who got it done for 800 .. it’s really sad & sick how some companies pray on homeowners in need..

    Dumb question: why do people still use drum snakes if hydro jetting seems to work better. I know there is a premium cost to hydrojetting vs snake but can a person only do hydrojetting. It seems better all around. Can I learn to run a camera and hydro just as fast as drum auger?

  • @josephcunningham559
    @josephcunningham5593 жыл бұрын

    Jonathan West no you need a snake machine. It is difficult to use a hydro jetter on smaller drains. Also sometimes you have to unclog drains when people have carpets or overhead clean outs and you can not use a jetter for fear of flooding somebody’s finished basement or other rooms

    I work for people on fixed incomes 60 bucks to snake a tub , sink or stool and 100 for main lines.. No ads ever and I get between 10 to 20 calls a day.. all cash deals.. On camera work I farm out for a 25 dollar fee one needs to stay small and low over head..

  • @josephcunningham559
    @josephcunningham5594 жыл бұрын

    if that is your business model that is great. If i do 10 main lines i would find problems with about 60% b/c that is the chance there is one. make 10-50 thousand on 10 main lines. sometimes we replace the whole septic system.

    What about Google add words, home advisor, thumb tack etc. I only charge $185. For a average sewer clogg, 45 minutes or less. But where I am there are ALOT of plumbers. I need advice on the BEST advertising that makes the phone ring.

  • @josephcunningham559
    @josephcunningham5593 жыл бұрын

    I would not Recommend any of that advertising. Especially HomeAdvisor, you will burn through cash with them. Or if you do use those tactics you have to charge a lot more for your services to compensate.
