Thank you for this! I’ve had the 3 gallon version of this tank set up for quite a while now, but maintenance on it is a nightmare. I’ve been planning for months now to terret down and take out that back partition, but it’s pretty heavily planted and I kept feeling intimidated by it. I recently got a used 5 gallon one just for the motor to replace the motor in the 3 gallon that died. And I figured I would use that as a trial run tearing out the partition. Your video made it so much easier than I thought it would be! Just finished it up, all I have left to do is to clean it really well since it was kind of gross when I got it. And now I feel a lot better about a project in the near future of my existing 3 gallon one, doing the same thing and then putting it back together again.

yep i used scissors in the vid! wouldnt worry too much assuming you buy the backstrip since you’ll have a lot of extra to test it out. if you want to be very careful, an ez blade might be best

If you use a heat gun, keep it moving. Making sure not to overheat any areas. I would suggest leak testing the tank after. That much heat will loosen the silicon.
