Hi Barbra, this can be closed by holding down one end with a finger then pulling with the other hand, however, if the knots are tight we have a tool that can assist here: www.thecuriousgem.co.uk/miscellaneous/ez-hook-3-in-1-fastener.html. Hope that helps, The Curious Gem.

Oh, OK. So, if I want to make this fit a wrist that's 6.5 to 8, how do I figure out what size to cut the strings or where to place the knots? I have watched over a hundred videos. I feel so defeated.

@@barbra429 Hi! The length of your cord needs to be around double the finished length of your bracelet or necklace. Any beads or charms need to be threaded on the cord before you tie the knots. This is a rough estimate and it may take a bit of trial and error to get exactly the length you need.

Hi, the cord length in this video is approximately 30cm. We wrap the cord around the wrist twice as an approximate length, then trim it down for the exact length. I hope this helps, The Curious Gem.

I would not recommend using elastic for this style of bracelet as you would find the adjustment quite difficult due to the stretch of the elastic. We do have a great video on how to make a stretch bracelet with elastic string here: kzread.infop_AYWUvy10I?feature=shared
