My favourite disposable is the gillette sensor 3. They're quite pricey but they last ages if you rinse them out and dry them after use. I usually use gillette foam too. This combo has always given me a good shave, with no cuts, at a reasonable price. Just make sure you use plenty of hot water to soak your whiskers first, and a styptic pencil for the odd nick.

There are 15 minutes loooooong videos to show this simple tip about cleaning a disposable razor. This video does the same under a minute. Video production is definitely an art and not everyone can become a KZreadr overnight. Kudos for such an awesome and brief video tip. 👍

I've been doing this for 3 years and I can say it has preserved my blades much better and I don't store my razor in the bathroom i take a bath in also, so keeping it from moisture is the key.

Keeping those blades dry is the key so final rinsing them with hot water is best because it will evaporate faster than cold water. Then a few more taps on the sink as if the razor were a hammer rapidly followed by forcefully blowing bursts of air through the blades (front and rear) to push/evaporate any remaining moisture that's in those hidden spots where the towel can't reach. Then dry the entire unit with the towel and replace the protective cap. The forced air technique is very effective in drying car motors that have been steam cleaned as well as drying production parts in metal plating shops (where I learned the technique). I like the Bic single blade razor because it's got the most open space around the blade. Multiple blades are much too close together making it a lot harder to dislodge trapped hair from the in between space(s). The forced air drying technique can be used on the lids of tuna fish cans especially under the opener ring . After soap, water and toothbrush cleaning plus paper toweling, all remaining water and unseen debris can be blown out from under the puller. This can be useful when travelling in the Third World where water quality is always questionable. If lung power is low then wash/rinsing with bottled water works good, too. Just allow some room temperature drying time.

Most of the time after rinsing the disposable razor under running water and vigorously shaking off the water, I inspect the space in between the double or triple blades only to find filthy gunk of hair particles hiding, so I get a little piece of sturdy paper that is thi enough to insert between the blades to gently wipe out the gunk.

I used to do that tapping routine to dislodge and bump off the hair. No more! These days if I use a disposable razor I swish vigorously in a tall plastic tub of water, and if needed, I give a finger-rub on the blades in opposite direction that the cutting edges point.

Your video is half right and you almost got the key so I will share the rest with you now. It has nothing to do with drying off the blade. It has everything to do with moving that blade against that surface although we don't use towels. We use blue jean material. I know......sounds crazy. I have been doing it for months now. KZread it yourself. You will save hundreds of dollars on blades just buy resharpening your blades. Peace

Just saw another tip about stropping the disposable against my own forearm. Makes sense as they keep straight razors sharp by stropping against leather which is a skin. So stropping a very thin razor backwards on forearm skin should work too. Anyone else heard about this.?

  • @10floz30minutes

Some disposable razors are a single piece that the head and the handle are continuous one-piece. Others are made as a handle with detachable disposable razor HEADS. Then there is the kind which LOOKS like the head is disposable/detachable but your're not supposed to remove it - except by accident.
