Best results if you do this using a polishing compound

+ weekend set still in use since sept 2020 + further test with two sets, so every second day, since Sept 2021 + disposable blades used at 6 blade versions from Aldi Australia + blades are dry honed with 20+ strokes between shaves on underside of forearm - note natural skin oil may help here versus using old denim + both blades are cleaned monthly in ultrasound machine + shaving gel used also Aldi brand + shaving technique as per normal; with the hair grain, stretch skin taut with other hand + pre shaved skin washed with mild soap before each shave with cold water + hot water used for shaving + blades shaken to remove excess water and left to air dry + 50's year old skin :)

Honestly bottle wasn't needed just a nice rectangle cut of the jean.

Why is the empty plastic bottle necessary? The contact of the blades on the round surface only occurs along a very narrow portion of the blade.

Also after each shave rinse the blade thoroughly by squirting isopropyl alcohol through the blades. Then allow to dry. Air is a big cause of blades going dull.

@@chloekatz2498 from what i understand, women things are more costly because of the demand, for example women will tend to buy a pink razor over a blue razor, so the companies when they produce razors they will produce it in blue as the default for everyone so their equipment and colors are all made to produce the blue razor, then because of the demand for pink razors with flower paintings or something by women the companies invest more on buying the colors and other things needed to produce the pink razor, this will cost the companies a little more than making the blue razor :) i hope my explanation is understandable lol

this is also why men clothes are cheaper than women, we will wear anything, while women are picky at what they wear and don't buy clothes of cheap brands so that's why their clothes are always very expensive and the cheaper ones are hard to find because the majority of women won't buy simple cheap clothes

@@chloekatz2498 If women spend more on the razors then that's their fault. If you believe the difference to only be the color of the handle, then why spend the money on it? Why do women not just get the men's razor and force companies to either lower prices or just do away with the ones marketed towards women.

Literally this is just stropping ! That piece of leather that a barber is swiping with a straight razor is called a strop and yes it works im just not sure it works for disposables.

Step 1 get a DE razor for $10 and 100 blades for $8 - done, year worth of blades that are also give closer and a better shave for a tenth of the price

@@kiera791 Bc the cartridge razor business is basically a scam anyways....create a product that will always be needed but only has a small finite, number of uses. A single 10 cent DE blade will shave just as well, usually better, than a $4 6 blade cartridge one does. Also, I would be very suspect of anyone claiming they got a blade to last a year doing this. I might believe a couple months, but a year? They must not be shaving much.

Ian Pearson there are more types of razors.Ones with open comb and others with closed. I would recommend you to try a Feather Popular razor. It's about 15 bucks

@@ianpearson8976 Light pressure is all you need. Double edge razors require different technique. I find it a double-edge razor glides across my skin and doesn't require any pressure such as the cartridge razor.
