Yep horizon hobby just sent me a new 160 spektrum 8s ESC because mine was doing the temp mode and the 150s are out of stock so they upgraded me! And a max 6 motor is on its way! Thanks Rich!!

Can't wait to see how fast it goes with 8s..... Now I want to upgrade mine.

Have you tried installing the MM X8S in the car? I have a V1 infraction currently running on an 8S setup with the Poseidon 1800KV motor. I had previously installed the V2 ESC try to move the antenna to the outside of the car to see whether that helped with range issues and discovered that the 160A Firma ESC fits perfectly and as you said the screws line up. However, I was wondering if I should just swap it out for the CASTLE MM X8S as it appears that it will fit in this larger tray. Do you think there would be any benefit from that ESC over 160A Firma ESC? I assume that the Castle runs well over 160 amps although I couldn’t find a number listed on their website.

If you need rear wheels....the rear traxxas xo1 wheels are the same size as the felony rears just have to trim the traxxas hex to fit the arrma hex

What 8s motor is this..and can ya use the reg esc. With no issue

The Arrma 8s system is readily available and is a drop in fit. Easiest way to make it 8s. I did the upgrade to my infraction and bash on a 20 tooth pinion all day long no problems at all.

@onyxsr this is the motor esc combo SPMXSEMC06. I run it 6 and 8s, I added a ripple killer cap pack and fans. A 20 tooth pinion and hard springs. Everything else stock. Not the fastest, maybe not even the "best" set up. Inexpensive and let's me do what I want.

yes it would as they are controlled by the receiver not the esc sorry for delay

Bernard I think it was the battery that was the issue although I'm going to look at it again tonight, it's just the 'variables' for the 160A version didn't seem to match the manual (different for 150A but I was looking at 160A page), once I swapped the batteries it seemed to accept the programming. mine not just overheated but exploded on my felony... I'm pretty mad about arma putting some stuff in it that can't handle 6s power..

Hard enough to control felony at 6s hoons tires are horrible for grip just slides all over the place i can get top speed but stopping is the worst part gotta have room to let it slow on its own i want some sticky tires for mine before i upgrade to faster esc or gears

I was thinking the same thing, that Arrma should release a 8s edition Infraction and Felony, even if just a special edition, I know running mine on 8s with that ESC and the 1250kv motor is insane, tires don’t stand a chance.

I've had email today from 2 suppliers, 3 new sets of rears on the way.....5 weeks after car came out, and trust me if I was 'on it' I could get through a new set with one battery pack! Should I do a video to show that, I'm down tonight and in need of encouragement!!! :-)

Roberto steering only and no drive sounds like LVC issue. That would be my first thought!

And....they'd charge you double the price of the ones in my link, if you buy the connectors and wire from castle? 3 times the price, and that's if you've got a soldering iron, flux and solder already in! If not and you need to buy all I've mentioned a set should only set you back just under $100....:-)

now it could be made to fit for sure without too much worry, you could sqeeze in a 6s infraction motor, OR Poseidon do small can 6s motors which we love, BUT the diffs on the 3s arrma granite blow under hard use. If anyone ever makes some metal ones they'll make a killing!!!!

Isaac I've just tested a cap pack in it last week, video coming up in next few days, it's peaking out at 98mph with the optional pinion fitted.

IS THE MAX BRAKE LEVEL ON THE 8s SPEKTRUM GOOD ENOUGH TO STOP THE CAR LIKE THE 6s ESC BRAKES?

Err first of all, NOBODY is taking pre-orders for a felony with this ESC....It didn't burn out as you can see in the video the car's still running. What I said was you could run it for a little while before it gets hot, that's still true. Arrma is NOT going to let you or anyone else pre-order an 8S ESC with a 6S Motor, or by the end of the month they'll have gone bankrupt or be being sued for starting wildfires in California!! Lol (my A$$). Pre-order my felony? Nah I just bought mine from my LHS (Who would NOT sell anyone a car with an 8s ESC and 6s motor....Nor would arrma or any sane LHS!)

I didn't say now. ..I have the esc..the motor this month. I had the esc not to long after I received my felony. Along with two 4s lipos. Soooooo..... technically I could have ran 8s not to long after receiving my felony. But I won't chance it. Ill wait till the motor comes in...trust wen I say. I actually spoke with horizon hobby wen I pre ordered my felony. About the power up option (8s combo) if they actually install it wen purchased. They said. No. So I bought it. But it comes separately esc..motor. so. Yes. I could have ran 8s with the 6s motor.

Who do you get ahold of to get the ESC exchanged. I can’t get anyone to answer a phone. And email response is very slow. Mine likes to cut out at 80 and leave me with no brakes.

Sounds like the exact same fault my original one had esc overtemp kicks in cuts power (Which includes brakes). Horizon phone support very poor (60-90 mins on a good day) at best, the chat however is what I used and got it sorted in 10-15 mins, not bad given circumstances we're all under. So Darren try the chat in the morning, but scan your purchase receipt in first of all as they'll ask you to email it to them whilst you're on the chat. hope that helps, let me/us all know how you get on

Could only get ahold of them via email. They had me send my esc in for evaluation and they determined nothing was wrong and are sending it back....

I think Arrma should come up with more kits, so that we don't have to put up with their electronics which really suck!

Nearly everyone has them listed BUT all I'm seeing is 'pre-order' I've had two sets on back order since the day they released the part number I even ordered them before the car (which I got on launch day). Share if you know anywhere that has them in stock, I've just ordered a pair via arrma but it's horizon that's the shipper and the same tire is showing out of stock at horizon....

Why wouldn’t you just buy a hobbywing max6 160a esc that is 8s compatible and is $60 cheaper than the Arrma 160a esc?? I will agree it sure looks like they meant for an 8s system to bolt right in there without a doubt.

Well horizon aren't going to send me anything else out as a warranty replacement are they? The Dynamite Fuse version of this 160A ESC has run well in my V1 Losi DB XLE so we'll see how this does.

I dont have these problems with traxxas vehicles. I wont get the felony now.

2023 and sadly still no 8s Version from Arrma.

Cause jason knows the stock esc is junk so he designed it to use the bigger esc....but jason won't supply us with replacement rubber to glue on the rims kinda disappointed there

weird it's like fitting a higher powered motor in your road car without changing anything else isn't it........As for the driving location? I guess some build drive you round the bend! I suggest you do so and stay there...
