How to Make Wagashi: Shizuka Attempts Nerikiri with Miss Wagashi

Sign up for the Intensive Wagashi & Mochi Making Course: www.udemy.com/course/wagashi-...
Despite their intricate appearance, wagashi are actually easy Japanese sweets to make at home. Over the course of 24 video tutorials, you’ll learn several Japanese wagashi recipes. Made from simple ingredients like Japanese glutinous rice, beans, and sugar, nerikiri wagashi are vegan and their ingredients are easily accessible anywhere in the world.
You’ll start by learning how to make white bean paste from scratch and how to make wagashi dough. Then, Mai-san will teach you how to create 4 seasonal nerikiri designs and make 2 types of mochi (strawberry daifuku and the Japanese raindrop cake). Lastly, she’ll demonstrate how to prepare a cup of matcha to enjoy with your sweets.

Mai-San, “I’ve been practicing wagashi for over 15 years.” Shizuka 6:29 “I made a butt!” But in all seriousness, these came out great and it’s definitely something I miss from Kyoto!
