"When you're a fan of old stuff, there's a lot of hurting going on" Truer words have never been spoken. Especially right now as a diehard, lifelong fan of Walt Disney and vintage Disneyland. Have to try the Black Magic looks amazing!!

Yes, it seems that if you love classic tiki, it's only a matter of time before your heart is broken by loss. I've certainly been missing Tiki Central (which, like the Mai Kai, I hold out hope will return soon) , so it's nice to see Hurricane Hayward.

Just found this channel. Awesome video. I am a big fan. I have seen the Hula Girls a few times. I have been to the Hukilau 9 years. Many times to the Mai Kai. Had cocktails in the Molokai bar with Jim Hurricane Hayward. Martin Cate bought me a Rum Barrell in the Molokai bar. Great memories. Live in upstate NY land of sometime ice and snow and no Tiki.

"Everything about Tiki drinks is a PAIN IN THE ASS" This right here, my friends, is how you know you have the passion. I waited 4 weeks making my own allspice dram because the locals, which I love to support, had none. And then the gardenia mix. Just for a Polynesian Pearl Diver. Who the fk makes ghee at home for a single drink? Tiki nerds. And we love it. Thanks for the "Mai Tai" content Spike.

It's a bit unfortunate that Bacardi has the reputation it does, as they do make some good rums. I usually will use Bacardi 8 when making a daiquiri, and it really works well in that, at least in my opinion.

I thought I’d really like this drink. It just doesn’t work for me. Too much busy nonsense. The coffee was a major downfall and I love coffee. But then my next worst tiki is sadly the Zombie. Love the Ancient Mariner, Mai Tai, Hurricane and the very busy Dead Reckoning, Samoan Typhoon and J-Bird Swizzle. (Last 3 highly tweaked and more complex than originals.) Painkiller and such purdy good - tweaked with the addition of lime juice.

Cool Cocktail! BTW All You Haloes, 'Okole Maluna' means "I Want Your Ass". In the islands it's considered very much a sexual come on, and unless you're Mahu that's something da kine straight Kanes would never comfortably say to each other. Praying that Elon Musk (or anyone with plenty spare ducats) will kick down and fully fund the Mai Kai preservation!
