I had some left in the pot to eat this morning but it’s slimy 😩😩😩😩😩😩, I just want someone to tell me that it is still edible 😭😭😭
What other leaf can be use for this rice pls or dose it have to be a scent leaf ??
Hi Ify, this recipe is for how many servings please?
Looks yummy... My question is how do you know the quantity of palm oil to use? Palm oil is one funny kind of oil, it expands when heated.
Can I use basmatic rice
Please is iru the same thing as ogiri okpei??
Where can I buy this type of your pot??
Early bird 🐦 gang, please gather here 🕺
Can i parboil my rice before add it to my meat store
What’s the English name of that leaf pls
Pls can't one use tomatoes to cook with it roo
Great vid. But the meats still had some blood on them
Please can the iru(fermented locust beans) be used to prepare party jellof rice?
@harderhonche
2 жыл бұрын
No. Iru is what makes this dish local. Iru is mostly for local dishes, soups, etc… Iru has no business in party jollof rice
But I could clearly see the blood, you didn’t wash properly
What's "iru" please?
@sijuolaoketokun1576

Locust beans. The black one

This is an excellent keep it u I will try to cook this dish in my restaurant
Please is the Iru optional
@Ifyskitchen
2 жыл бұрын
You can do away with it but it really does heighten the flavours.
Pls what is iru in igbo? You keep using the word iru, I'm an igbo girl and I just get lost at that iru word. So fill me in biko

It's fermented locust beans. It's different from our ogiri isi.

Ogiri okpei or dawa dawa can be used but you should chop or break it into pieces before you fry it in the palm oil. It's all delicious!
Nice one but it looks like you didn't wash the intestines well because it still has blood in it.
@nabodimma
Жыл бұрын
I don’t think that’s blood. That looks like myoglobin.

So you wash yours well then, right 😂😅

She said she discarded the stock. It's possible the blood keeps oozing out and the only way to drain it is to cook it first. It's just like liver, until you cook it, the blood just keeps oozing out.
@sandrandirika1068

Lol. That is natural leakage from animal parts. It isn't unclean. She discards the initial stock because it will have a metallic flavour from the iron-rich offal which can negatively affect the flavour of the finished dish
Long procedure... Just give us the basics....
Nice
