guys this is literally the BEST cat treats recipe!!! my kitty looooooooved it. Plus you can make several variations, like I did with tuna. As a useful tip, I recommend instead of making individual dots, to pipe long thin logs, bake them for 8 minutes, then cut them into mini bites and bake these again for another 5-8 minutes. Sorta like making biscotti, It dries them out and makes them much easier to eat!

I just adopted two 3 month old kittens yesterday. I will me making this for them very soon.

Made this today and SO FAR is helping greatly for my kitty who is going through dry-withdrawal. Yup, step one-taking the all day buffet away started 2 days ago. But who’s counting. Definitely NOT using as a replacement, but as a pacifier when moments get rough and/or crumbled on wet food. Thank you!

Made these and handed some out as gifts for kitty christmas gifts, they were a hit!

I think I’d save my time by spreading the mixture thinly onto a covered cookie sheet and cut them in desired sizing. My animals are GREEDY and love generous cuts. Thanks for sharing!

Two paws up from Squirt! I finally remembered to buy some Nutritional Yeast while running errands yesterday. He gobbled the first one down, but the second one must have still been warm in the centre because he stopped chewing and held it in his mouth for a couple of seconds before deciding it was okay to swallow lol. I would recommend letting them cool completely (as instructed by Jasmin) before offering them to your furbaby. It's my experience that once a cat is put off by something it's rare they will give it another try. Also, I cut each piece in half once baked because he's used to smaller treats then I can make using a ziplock bag as a piping tool. I'll invest in a more sophisticated mixture dispenser for next time such as the one suggested in the video. Thanks again, Jasmin!

Couldn't sleep so started baking at two in the morning and made these. They didn't look too appealing so decided to give it the taste test before giving to my feral kitties. I have to say these are delicious, taste like turkey sausage. I think my kitties will love them.

I have looked and looked for a meat based cat treat I can make so I can trust the ingredients. This is the ONLY one I've found. I did do a quick check on nutritional yeast as I've never considered letting my cat eat it and also on the sardines. YAY!! Both got the thumbs up! The qualifier was sardines in moderation and this recipe certainly meets that criteria. My kity is leading the healthy life on her raw chicken diet with hearts and liver and she never has had "treats" except salmon I poach in water, I really wanted to spoil her with something "fun" AND healthy.

You can also use a cookie scoop (like an ice cream scooper but smaller). They are like $10 at any kitchen supply store.

Thank you for this recipe! My cats are extremely finicky! I even make them turkey legs or chicken in my crockpot and then pate' it. Sometimes even rhat is not good enough but the store bought they love. I cant6 afford the $20 a carton price every week! I cant5 wait to make these!!!

I used to put katsuobushi (bonito flakes) sometimes when she was not eating her food. Works perfectly as well and she gets nuts when she heard the sound of the bag. I think I'm going to really like your channel. I've always wanted to make treats for my kitty my old cat he's not a kitty anymore. He's 15 almost 16. What you viewers can do is make catnip tea and use that instead of just water. Also if viewers are freezing these treats then they can be used as a summer cool down for cats. One can add a chondroitin if needed and any supplements while mixing

Can u store these for a while?

This is going to sound dumb but one of my cats has a fish allergy. Is there any way I can cut the sardines from the recipe? Or do I have to sub them out with something?

Thanks, Reese! They do definitely need to be refrigerated. You can use any meat or poultry and should work out :) I'll have another recipe for treats up soon!

I just tried to make it! It's cooling right now but I ended up cooking it for around 40 minutes and the frothiness still wasn't gone around the edges of all of them, is that alright? They are quite firm and look cooked.

nvm... he didn't even eat them. He isn't food motivated at all so I was really hoping that he would like something homemade. Guess not lol

It’s been about a year since I made these and my cat loves her treats, and not only does she love them but these don’t upset her tummy like the commercial brand treats. My cat best loves these warmed up fresh out of the oven. After I made these, as an additional treat, I let her lick out the bowl since what I make her raw food in is a dedicated bowl. So I make this in the same bowl. It just makes her so happy to patiently and thoroughly lick all the meaty and tasty goodness out of the bowl. 😉

It's 2021 and I finally understand: Make my own cream, plus I can eat it; Make my own cat snacks, plus I can eat it (both if i MUST). Go away corporations!

Tried this recipe today. My boy, Badu, gave it a go and it might be too chewy? He wouldn’t stop licking his face. My girl, Gypsy, wasn’t having any of it. 😢 They’re not usually picky eaters. Also, sardines stank up my apartment lol!

Hi Candace! I would say yes! I’ll have a video coming up about feline CKD, but you want to make sure to feed them high quality protein lower in phosphorus, like poultry or rabbit.. as well as water rich food.. and b vitamins and healthy essential fats are also beneficial.. so this recipe hits the mark 😊 of course, always consult with you vet to confirm. But I would say yes, just ration them to a few a day as they are snacks after all 😻 hope that helps!

Can't get sardines in water here can another fish be used?

6 out of my 13 liked it, and the others.......... did not! This recipe makes A LOT of treats (maybe I made them smaller?) and took me ages to bake all the "cookies". My make-shift piping bag tore on my second try, so I gave up with the baggie and ended up using spoons to lay them out. I froze batches for future use :)

You can get it off of amazon! Nutritional yeast is a condiment that comes in flakes. It has a cheesy, salty taste, and a lot of vegans use it to replicate that cheese flavor. No salt, no fats, no carbs, but with lots of vitamins, it’s a great product for you and your cats to try!

Going to do this but freeze about half. I've got three cats- one of which literally eats anything I will, and one that eats maybe three things. This will either be a huge hit or only one of them will eat it. 😂😩
