This copycat Taco Bell Mexican Pizza recipe tastes even BETTER than the fast-food original! A healthier, tastier homemade Mexican pizza you can make in 30 minutes-including how to make Taco Bell Mexican Pizza shells & Mexican Pizza sauce.
Just like the original, this homemade Taco Bell Mexican Pizza features seasoned beef & refried beans sandwiched between crispy flour tortilla shells, topped with DIY Mexican Pizza sauce, melted cheese, and chopped tomatoes. But instead of frying, the Mexican Pizza shells are baked. And YOU get to control all of the ingredients-the type of meat, what you use in the sauce, you could even make a vegetarian Mexican pizza!
TODAY is supposed to be the Taco Bell Mexican Pizza return date, after it launched in May & was immediately recalled because of high demand. I get the vegetarian one with extra pizza sauce. I love it as a sometimes food!
Just in time for the Mexican Pizza to return! I don't even need to try Taco Bell's, this homemade version is so good 🤤

yes!! I used to eat at taco bell in high school all the time... crunchwrap supreme was my fav!!

@@MindOverMunch I am going to age well but I am talking way back in the day. They didnt have crunchwraps when i ate there. Lol. I am 53. My favorite was a bean and cheese burrito double wrapped with extra cheese and I loved their tacos and taco supreme.
So good to see you Alyssia. You look fantastic. I sometimes use tortillas or pita breads to make crunchy snacks. I sprinkle with dried/powdered stock/bullion. I prefer chicken or veggie but which ever you like. Or I sprinkle with Himalayan salt and black pepper or Native Australian pepper. Bake in a moderate oven on a wire rack for around 5 mins. Cut up into to the shapes you like let cool and they should go crispy (if not crispy when cool put in oven a bit longer). Store in an airtight jar or container. Add as much or as little stock/bullion as you like. They can be used with dips too instead of corn or potato chips.

I haven't had one since the 90s, but I would never have considered the sauce was like that, I would be guessed it was just an enchilada type sauce, and I distinctly remember cheese. There was definitely cheese. I am also sure the shell was a regular old fried taco shell, just flat. Maybe it changed over the years, but that's how they were back then.

yes to cheese! From the research I did there is not currently cheese in the middle, only on top... I think they should add it though 😝

My son and I were just talking about making these the other day and then ... POOF! This shows up. Crazy! Like how we were talking about trying to make baked oatmeal and then 3 days later you released a video with new baked oatmeals! It's like you're my spirit sister or something. (Same son wants me to shut up about how Taco Bell won't bring back the Taco Light, but they'll keep bringing other stupid stuff out ...)

Not available here (Ontario) and Taco Bell still hasn't re-opened since their Covid-19 closure. This looks doable but what is enchilada sauce?

you can buy it canned! It's made of various chiles and spices with tomatoes, garlic, onions, etc. :)

You need to add water to the meat to make it like toco bell with out drying out the meat.
Who hasn't tried a mex pizza from taco bell...?
I think they use extra thin tortillas.
the original from years back had chives/ green onions
