You can't patent formulas when it comes to scientific formulations for cosmetics, compounds and prescriptions as well! It's not protected by copyright laws! There are exceptions however such as recipes compiled in a cookbook! There's a lot of grey area because there's such a diverse and wide range of formulations when it comes to skin care products because who's to say someone else hasn't already come up with that formulation and just hasnt promoted it or shared it! Skin care and cosmetics are very much a science! Because there's such a science involved when formulating it's up to every maker to experiment on their own while still using formulas such as Cecil's "as a guideline" then take that product and make it our own and look to see what substitutions can be implemented or to see what ingredients can be added that will coincide with all the other ingredients! The idea of her or anyone else sharing a formula is for you me and other aspiring viewers who desire to create products is to take what is shared with us and use it as a guideline only ...that's why research is very crucial! Hope my post makes sense!The other exception is that it can't be new had to be original!

I'm searching for a homemade gel recipe base to which I can add MSM (organic sulfur crystals) to create a gel that will "skin" (not stay wet or sticky). I've been using a commercial product called Prosacea that's marketed as a treatment for Rosacea, however I've found it quite effective against fungal skin infections like ringworm. This Prosacea commercial product contains 10% sulfur which I believe is what's stopping the fungal growth. I've basically turned my closet into a chem lab in my search for a homemade fungal treatment as I search for something in addition to the essential oil treatments.

I think u meant that will "slip" & not skin(to create a light sensory skin feel) if so u can add "pentylene glycol" to your formulation if it's a water based product u making if it's an oil based product u can add either dimethicone or CCT oil or any other lightweight plant oil like grapeseed oil

Yes, propylene glycol is derived from petroleum and many people have concerns that it is carcinogenic and can be toxic when used in skin care products. Propanediol is a natural, environmentally friendly propylene glycol alternative derived from corn sugar and used as a humectant, hair and skin care product Propylene glycol is used as a humectant and viscosity reducer in cosmetics. Propanediol increases the moisture content of hair and body care products and at 5% is better than propylene glycol and butylene glycol. It is also a preservative. You can use combination of phenoxyethanol & ethylhexylglycerin , 0.5% + 0.5% , since it will be broad-spectrum preservative

The threads are not to be removed...they keep on infusing in the solution with time and add more properties to it . Either keep it overnight or do not stain

Thank you dear. Sure you can do that. If you do not wish to add glycerine you can use Pentylene Glycol as your humectant.

I calculate the shelf life of my products according to the shelf life of all the ingredients added to the product. For example, if the shelf life of Niacinamide is 5 months and the shelf life of the glycerine I used is 2 months. The shelf life of my product will be 2 months. Hope this makes sense.

Yes you can, but the gel may not be as clear as with cosmetic grade xanthan gum

Yes definitely

Thank you for sharing the first method. The third method is not actually a method for making Avocado oil and should be discouraged. Avocado oil is healthy. Why would you want to ruin it using the very unhealthy sunflower oil? Lastly, drying the avocado mush in the oven leads to some level of oxidation and the final products should not be used for food. Again, thanks for sharing.
