How to Make Quick and Easy No Knead Bread | 5 Ingredients
An introduction to how to make bread at home. 5 ingredients (that's including the water!) Jill shows how to make an easy recipe for no knead bread, from your hands, and to the oven in no time at all. Great for the beginning baker.
RECIPE NO KNEAD BREAD:
13 oz. very warm water
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast (packages of dry yeast hold 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 teaspoons)
2 teaspoons oil (of choice) or can be omitted
3 1/2 cups white flour (preferably bread flour but all-purpose flour works too)
Mix water, yeast, salt, and oil in a bowl. Mix thoroughly until yeast and salt are dissolved. Let rest for 5 minutes to activate yeast.
Add flour and mix until combined. Mix until flour is totally moistened from water.
Cover and proof in a warm location for 1 1/2 hours or until approximately doubled in size.
Begin preheating oven to 400 degrees F.
Gently deflate the dough by moving it around the bowl and folding dough over on itself until it's deflated.
Prepare baking pan with a spray of oil.
"Roll" the dough into the pan. Settle it into the pan with a spatula/spoon (see video). Cover and allow to rise again until the dough fills the pan, and it has risen to almost the top of the baking pan. (About 30 minutes)
Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 40 minutes. Turn out onto cooling rack. Try to control your urge to cut into it for about 30 minutes, allowing the bread to cool down. Makes one loaf.

@@walidali6090I am going to try it with fast-acting yeast first because that is what I have on hand. I will mix all dry ingredients, then add the warmed liquid and blend/stir. Hope to try tomorrow.

Where are the ingredients listed? I don’t see them. What kind of yeast and what kind of flour?

@@skpool1 That's so weird! They were there at the beginning of the video, but I guess she edited them out for some reason. Anyway, they are listed in the description section of the video. It says to use dry yeast. It also says to use either bread flour or all purpose flour.

Made this today during lockdown, I've been making the recipe of a very well known tv chef and it was pretty good but needed kneading which my fingers don't like ... @donotcomply With glass pans, you should probably heat the oven to 350-375 degrees. Look on the bottom of the pan. Sometimes they will actually indicate the proper temp. At that lower temperature the bread will need to bake longer. Maybe an added 15 minutes. Since I've not used glass pans, I'm guessing on the time. If you have a kitchen thermometer, the interior of the bread should be around 190-200. I hope that helps

Wow!!! Now this is truly the simple way to make amazing tasting bread. I made the exact same bread only I used my toaster oven. Had some butter and German deli meats sliced also good mustard and chips. Oh yes!!!! And is really good still warm... I ate half the loaf!

I made this bread today, and ate 1/3rd of the warm loaf, by myself. 🤣😂 (even though I know that when you cut into it before it cools, it ruins the rest of the loaf... It was my first time making this recipe, it came out perfectly golden, smelled delicious, I had jam I needed to use up... and just couldn't help myself! 🤤🤪) next time I make this recipe, I'm going to let the bread have a proper cool-down before cutting in, and see how it holds up with my egg salad recipe!!! I love the idea of knowing I made the ENTIRE egg salad sandwich from scratch, for the first time in my life!! I will eat it proudly hahaha such a great recipe! 😁💖

Great bread! Love the blue northwest Native sweatshirt too. And your granite countertop is to die for. This from a Native American geologist from Seattle that LOVES fresh homemade bread. :)) I add honey to the liquids rather than sugar and sunflower seeds or nuts or whole grains or dried fruits or onions and herbs and spices or cheese. You can jazz this basic bread recipe up in a thousand ways.

I made this twice. It's amàzing.
Looks delicious. it is way easier than kneading bread. My hubby likes homemade bread a lot, and a loaf doesn't last long in our house! And Trader Joe's organic jams are the best on bread.
If you "de-gas" by stirring down more aggressively after that first main rising, that can minimize those large holes in the finished "crumb."
I made my very first loaf of bread and just love it!!! Thank you for a simple delicious recipe. I am so excited to say I am now a bread maker. It makes the best toast ever.

Our oven has a "Proof" setting (80 degrees F) I proof for 30 minutes, remove the mixing bowl from the oven then re set the oven to 400 F. I degas the dough ball and transfer to a bread pan then place the pan on top of the stove for 30 minutes. The loaf rises a second time for 30 minutes then into the oven for 40-45 minutes.

@@patsysalter9131 Hi Patsy, I see your comment about how nicely the bread came out. I also noticed your comment about what type of flour I used. In the description box, where the recipe is found, does say either all purpose or bread flour works for the recipe. Hope that helps.
I like the large amount of yeast allowing for a quick proof time and the 400 degree oven instead of 450 with a slightly longer bake time---
So anxious to try this recipe. Finally an Artisan bread that is easy, no boiling water in the oven, no dutch oven, no hours of rising! This lady has her gourmet talent up front! No promises, just results. Thank you and may God bless you!
