James Johnson Haha, I think Jools is a little bit stricter with the kids than Jamie, I think the kids can wrap Jamie round their little finger! This is genuinely how he speaks to them in real life, although the language has evolved as they’ve grown (as with his other children). I follow them on Instagram (the family), & although I haven’t been on IG in a few years now I often saw snippets of video clips, personal family pics on His & Jools IG’s or watched them during their Christmas specials when the kids got involved near the end of the show; Jamie is very much a softy with the kids. As is Jools, but as she’s a stay at home mum she’s got to be a bit stricter! They really are great parents, great team work between Jools & Jamie, it just seems to work. :)

Everyone else is smitten by how cute the video is (and they're right, of course)... but what cracks me up is Jamie relaxing in the chair and just supervising as his daughters do all the work. why is everyone complaining about these not being traditional american pancakes? Most Americans traditionally get their pancakes from a box mix. -_- simple american pancakes - 1 cup flour 1 cup milk 1 egg , 2 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon baking powder and butter to cook with. Oh noes his is so much different, he added natural sugars from pear and used self raising flour that already had baking powder in it. And the toppings? Some people put peanut butter and fruit on theirs while I'm just maple syrup, doesn't mean that's wrong. He's so terrible. My god gimme a break.

If you let the pancake batter sit for a minute or two before you start pouring it on the griddle, it gives the baking powder in the batter time to start "bubbling", and the pancakes will be even more fluffy. I really enjoyed this - it was my dad who loved to cook, and who taught me this trick (his pancakes actually still get mentioned by family 30 years after his passing :-) ) and how to cook in general also, just like this :-)

Hey Jamie, Thanks for making ti easy for my son and I to make a mother's day breakfast. Only thing is...and yes I know children were doing this.....you gotta make it simpler for guys who don't cook! ha ha ha!!!! Here's what we learned and did different. 1. We cooked outside on the grill with an aluminum pan. No clean up for mom. BUT the pan takes quite a while to heat up that way. The first pancakes didn't brown so well. 2. For some reason we needed to add a bit more flour. 3. Also, it seemed that the whole mixture seemed to need a minute or two sit to thicken up a bit. Other than that.....THANK YOU FROM 2 GUYS LEARNING TO COOK. :-)

@bonjourmabelle You can use baking powder but it can sometimes taste a bit metallic so you need to check the quantities on the side of the pack and be really careful not to add too much. Alternatively make normal 'British' flat pancakes, same one cup quantities but use plain flour and make one big pancake at a time x
