What happened to the bay leaf?
I would advise to put less water or have the water be already boiling. I made this tonight and took out the foil and it was still full of water. Even after the additional 20mins, it really didn't reduce all that much. Thus when I put the cream and cheese it just turned into a mess. There were some nice burnt parts here and there but the rest was just a mess. Really disappointed. 🙄

My missus showed me how her family cooks rice , they put a little oil in the pan , and vigorously move the raw, dry uncooked rice whilst heating / toasting it . Water is then added moments before the dry rice starts to brown/toast . It should remain white but will subtly change appearance , almost like a thin waxed coat on the grains . It cooks beautifully each time , unsure of the science behind it but my god it works. No pre rinsing , no mush, no sticking ! Blew my mind .
250g rice, 1.5ltr stock. Absolutely not. Just ruined my dinner.

Ingredients: -2 sprigs thyme, chopped -100 grams sliced bacon -1 KG minced beef -1 KG minced pork ***fry medium heat for about 10 minutes while storing Then into food processor: -2 Onion -4 carrot -4 sticks of celery ***add to mince meat, stir every minute for 10 minutes (total cook time so far 20 min) -Add 2 heaped TBL spoons tomato purée -4 tins plumb tomatoes -4 tins worth water Mix well, simmer gently for 1.5-2hours while sauce refuces

I typically cook English style but I love just a quarter of a cup of grated cheese melted in too - then a good crack of pepper once it's on the toast. Heaven.
