You don’t have to apologize about what you eat, I think as most people that diet become obsessed and speak of it far too often. The world is in a sad state at this time and food can be a comfort when everything else seems to be falling apart 😫 Just be you and enjoy what you are doing. I enjoyed your earlier shows when you were more down to earth. ♥️

Leslie, you take the break you need. Because your mind will reset. But if you don't take this break and you continue to resent dieting, you'll quit and never go back to it. I believe you're doing the right thing. Happy cooking, sweety ❤

Leslie giVe yourself some grace these next few months. years ago I would starve myself and I wound up with a eating disorder. I almost could not overcome it. But with God and my family I did. Also I love this time of year for all the get togethers and crockpot meals. You do what is best for you and don't feel guilty.

We love you Leslie, no matter how light or heavy you are. You are a beautiful person. You have nothing to explain. I suspect that the season change and the cooler weather is a reminder of the holidays approaching. You'll hop back on your meal plans when the new year gets here. Until then, enjoy the rest of the year. Absolutely love the pj's. If plaid is involved I'm there.

Leslie, as long as you are happy and healthy that is what really matters most. Food makes me happy too!! Maybe eat normal good food only smaller portions. About us understanding please do not stress about it I personally do not care whatsoever if you gain or lose weight it is unimportant in the scheme of things. I love your cooking and cook a couple of your recipes on a regular basis.

God bless you and great big hugs! I'm feeling for you and I think there are a lot of people out there who feel the same about being tired of having to put so much thought and preparation into your diet. I also think it's important to take breaks in-between because that action helps you feel like you are in control of your life and it's not running you. Mentally it's a stress reliever and once you decide to re-incorporate your diet back into your life it should create more confidence in your ability to adjust. Eating is a way we celebrate...a way we enjoy sharing our food and yummy treats with others.

I love you and to watch your videos... cooking on a whim is just fine.... I also want to thank Pastor Bryant for answering the question I asked him.... yes that dip looks so yummy.. I make something similar it's a bacon ranch and cheese dip... I'm in Florida so I love colder temps down here.😊♥️🙏that was so sweet of your friends to do... you guys some great gifts... diets are very hard I'm the same way.... I love to eat my dad was a chef and you get tired of not being able to eat what others can... they say if you deprive yourself then your going to binge or eat what you shouldn't... food is comforting.... yes there's a lot of thinking when you diet... so I understand how you are feeling....😊❤ Your not alone people can preach to us on how we should do this and not that but you do what you need to do and then get back on track ❤❤❤

If you aren't saved, you should get saved now before it's to late because Jesus is coming very very very soon. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10: 9-13, Ephesians 2: 8-9. Much love and God bless.✝

Leslie, I totally understand your issues with dieting. I’m diabetic and I am forced into eating right (obviously I cheat a little). At the very least, no way I can eat like I did before diabetes. My heart goes out to you, I feel sorry for myself often. One suggestion that helps me when I’m with other people (I live alone) is to ask for 1 bite of something I shouldn’t eat. I can satisfy my cravings with just 1 bite which is so wonderful!

✍Hello Leslie... I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like sour cream but I like French onion chip dip (how crazy is that) ha ha ha I love your new gift of the pumpkin casserole dish. The best dip ever is made is a dip made with a jar of sweetn'hot pepper relish mixed with a block of softened cream cheese. I get more raves when I make this for crackers or whatever for the holidays. I guarantee if you try it you'll love it. Yes today is supposed to be but actually its October 12th. My youngest daughter was born on the eighth and I was in the hospital when Columbus day came (that's when you had a baby and you stayed in for 5days) but now holidays are celebrated on a Monday. No wonder holidays aren't special for people anymore. Its a shame we've all become prisoners of food and diets. Yes, we should be aware of what we eat and how much we eat. It was really bad in the 50-60s and you didn't even see very many only a few people over weight but us girls/women were always counting calories and using a measuring tape. We kept track of how we measured 36-21-34 is what I kept mine at but wow those really changed after I had my girls. I now wear size 22 big difference but I try to not get any bigger. Because of my age 78 I have a set point...no matter what I've stayed the same for the last 35 years and Dr said its ok cause its better than yo yo ing up and down with the diets and pounds. I don't know but I still try. It was good visiting with you tonight. Good Night😴 God Bless LuvYa! Bye from Ohio🌹

Next time consider putting a head of lettuce in the bottom of the dish to fill up the bottom space so your dip sits up higher (use the head whole but cut the bottom flat to sit evenly and you can cut the top of the head and make a little well)

A nurse told me one time if you take a bite of something and it tastes good for goodness sake spit it out. LOL. Dieting is a tough battle. I think portion control and exercise helps a lot. Leslie, l completely understand your need to take a break in your eating plan. I'm a highly anxious person ( have been even back to a very young age) and l am addicted to food too. I had gastric bypass surgery 6 years ago, and not only lost a lot of weight, but later started drinking alcohol for the first time in my life. After landing in the hospital several times from stomach ulcers from the massive drinking, God has helped me to stop drinking. But there are a lot of nights that my craving for alcohol is overwhelming. I don't give in, but l end up eating just to force myself to finally sleep.

Something that helps me tremendously is to fast for 16 hours and eat in an 8 hour window. You don’t feel deprived that way. You’re sleeping for a portion of that time so it’s really not a big deal. I will have coffee in the morning but I wait to eat. It goes by quickly. Same thing at night. I drink hot drinks or cold and that helps. I believe when we deprive ourselves it’s much harder. Love your content!! Such a great place to watch you all and escape! Lol

I hear you about dieting. I'm a bit older than you....actually just turned 74. I weigh 123-125 now. My highest weight was 247.5 I am 5.2. I tried all diets and mediciations. All they made me do was THINK ABOUT FOOD!!! I was no where neaar as busy as you, but I did work a very stressful and responsible job with an hr commute and 2 lkids at home. 2005, I had lap band surgery. It doesn't work for everyone but for mme it was a blessing, a Godsend. I was a model patient, followed all the rules and had great success. I am not recommending this surgery to you but merely stating I understand the struggle, the pressure, the constant focus on food. For me, I crave foods, I love to cook, but the procedure prevents me from overeating. I also practice intermittent fasting. I do not break fast until at least 12 hrs from the previous day but shoot for 14 or 16. This works for me. I do take vitamin and mineral supplements and struggle to eat my 3-5 servings of fruits and vegggies every day. I wish you to be healthy That was my goal. My step children were having babies and I could not climb the stairs to put the babies to be bed with my extra weight. That was my driving force, really.

Many healthy foods are delicious. I grew up eating Filipino food. It is high in carbs as they include rice with all meals whether it is rice, rice noodles, or rice flour. Most of them are slender. My father could encircle my mother's entire waist with just his hands when he was alive. I could only fit her clothes when I was in Kindergarten. I'm 5'4 and she is 4'7. My bust size is two or three cup sizes larger than hers. Most traditional foods from other countries are healthy. Noticed foreign exchange students here gain weight and our students abroad lose weight.

Be careful with the Burt's Bees lip balm. I had a bad reaction and it took weeks for my lips to heal. This also happened to my neighbor who used Burt's Bees lip balm, as well. At first I thought it was the toothpaste I was using, but nope, it was definitely the Burt's Bees lip balm. The Carmex works the best for me. I put it on over my lipstick. No need to explain why you choose to eat the way you do. Someone else mentioned portion control. That works best for me too. I also have found that if I deprive myself of something I like, I wind up thinking about it more than I normally would, so I just go ahead and have some. Not a lot, so that's where discipline comes in to play. Sometimes I'm disciplined, and sometimes I'm not. Same with my walking exercises. I really need to do more of that to help offset the food I eat. Oh well, at least I'm being mindful, which is a good place to start with food and exercise. Another great video! Thanks, Leslie.

Diets Suck!! I've been on one for over three years. I lost 61 pounds and I've gained 8 pounds back and I am having no luck losing it. I am like you a foodie. I love to cook and I love to eat and I love being slim. It is so hard.

Miss Leslie. I too gained the weight back from when I was on OPTAVIA. They are fad and low calorie too restrictive and a quick fix diet. That’s why we lost the weight from them. I am eating what I want in moderation and portion size. Life is too short about being so worried all of the time if I couldn’t or could eat something when my family is eating and enjoying. I could eat anything just watch how much I am taking in. I hope this helps. The dip looked great. PB was thinking the same thing I was. Looked like your famous cheese ball. I make it every thanksgiving with the fire crackers. ❤Charlene

WOW - you are not alone on the diet thing - you expressed it so well - resentment hit the nail on the head. I too love to cook and eat but having to watch everything that goes into your mouth can suck the joy out of eating. Like you I have to take breaks and just enjoy good Southern cooking. Love your channel.

I’ll be trying that dip during the holidays. Looked so good with the pita chips. The last time I was in Walmart, especially in the health and beauty, the music was so loud and I also freeze in there and Aldi. I use that hairspray and really like it. Hope it works for you. I too struggle with my diet. It’s hard trying to cook for family (country cooking) and lose weight. I’ve started using a small plate to eat from and that has helped. I lost 50 pounds but go up and down. Really would like to lose about 25 more. The holidays are coming so it’s going to be hard. You got some really nice gifts. Loved the bag with your name on it and the Christmas sign. Was the cookbook MeMe’s recipes? I thought it looked like her cookbook. If so, I watch her too and she is just precious. I’ll pray for our struggles. ❤😊🙏

Leslie, as the saying goes, "You do you" regarding your diet. You need to do what you are comfortable with. It's challenging to always have to kept up with carbs, fat grams, etc. Do what works for you!

Yes, Aussie did quit making their “anti-friz/extra hold hairspray”. The newer, similar in their brand has a different formula. I was so bummed as I am now fighting those frizzy gray hairs and my hair was always SUPER STRAIGHT, and this new phase is driving me crazy❣️

Don’t know how I missed this video lol My mom and cousin made the best cheese ball back in the day. I think they both made it up. I have moms cookbooks and recipes and can’t find it and I’ve talked with my cousins daughter to see if she has it and she doesn’t. It was their Tupperware party go to lol Did I miss the yum yum macaroni and the creamy chicken chili? I have been at a stand still since we got back from the beach. I try not to have anything but water after 9 and do drink my milk before that time. Breakfast is usually a mini crossiant with eggs cheese and half a slice of ham Lunch half cup cottage cheese and a pickled sausage and a celery stalk with cream cheese And whatever we decide for dinner Snack a banana or apple or a mini granola bar. Not sure what is going on with hubby and I but some things we use to love we don’t want anymore. I’m not on keto or anything like that just watching my blood sugar. She dropped on shot to practically nothing and don’t have to go back for a year. So I’m eating but not strict strict until after the new year. I think I love New Year’s Day dinner as much as I do thanksgiving and Christmas dinners lol Don’t apologize. Take a break but then get back at it. Now that my shoulder and neck is feeling so good I’m going to start walking again. Because it hurt the last 7 months to even walk with that. Sorry about the book lol OH and I love pajamas too!! I need to clear out some of mine because they are to big. Which feels odd lol
