How to Make: Lasagna

1 lb ground beef
1 lb Italian sausage (or any desired meats)
1 jar Prego 32 ozs add 2 tbsp. of sugar
16 ozs mozzarella cheese
8 ozs cheddar cheese (optional)
1 small chopped onion
1 ricotta cheese 32ozs
2 eggs beaten
1-1/2 box of lasagna noodles -follow pkg instructions
1 tbsp. fresh parsley (can use dried only 1/2 tbsp)
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tbsp. granulated garlic
3/4 tbsp. oregano
Bake at 375 covered for 30 minutes. Then uncover and cook 30 minutes more.

This is my #1 favorite dish I love to cook. Been cooking this dish for 48 yrs, Though I am not Italian, I learned from an Italian from the old country. I use ground round and sweet Italian sausage in making my meat sauce. Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce is a must in my meat sauce. Prego's original sauce is good in making lasagna, along with Del Monte stewed tomatoes. Must let lasagna sit for up to 30 minutes after taking it out of the oven. I hand grind my mozzarella cheese (lots of it) & use ricotta (preferred). I usually let my meat sauce simmer for up to 3-4 hrs before putting everything together. There is an Italian seasoning I put in my meat sauce, along with a bit of oregano. Lots of fresh garlic, and some fresh basil. Don't cook often, but when I do, I don't have any leftovers, Some have even scraped out the bottom of the pan.

This is the BEST lasagna recipe. I need the measurements you use in this video. I made this for my choir years ago, following your recipe, but you decreased the ingredients for a smaller amount. They are begging me to fix it again. I don't want to take a chance of doubling the measurements listed and mess everything up. I want to make it exactly as YOU MAKE IT.

Yum! I just made a huge tray for about 10 guys from my church. Always a hit. My Italian neighbors in NY, back in the day, taught me to throw in a tablespoon of fennel seed in with the meat sauce. Gives it that something special and authentic Italian boost. Great channel. Enjoy all you post 👍

Love AGoodFilm if they are just starting out layering maybe a little confusing. The Pizza pasta bake is just as good. Similar in taste but less confusing and less time consuming.😃

Love AGoodFilm Did you wait 15 mins after you cooked it before you sliced it. That step is very important that gives the cheese a chance to mold so you can cut it and it will stay standing instead of falling apart.

Looks absolutely delicious I didn't know that you add eggs to the ricotta cheese and use mixer. I normally open cheese mix with spoon and spread does spread easy so I stop using it but know I see it spreads smoother with egg mixture. Y OU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY 🙆

I was curious why you didn't lay the noodles down first. A head of the school cafeteria said put the noodles layered not cooked and your sauce and all will not be sloppy. It works. I have used hot sausage too. Looks so good.

Could you please send me the actual amount of the ingredients as in the video. I'm going to feed a "crowd." I made it years ago and got rave reviews. I don't want to "wing it" and double or triple the recipe. I'm using 5lbs. of ground beef. I want it to taste GOOD, LIKE YOURS. You are an awesome cook. Thank you soooooooooooo much for sharing.
I think I know why the eggs were used, but I don't recall hearing / seeing a reason why I should add 4 beated eggs?
A natural chef doesn't need measurements. We sense it. Can i get a AMEN?

Karen Williams An Italian lady put 12 eggs in her ricotta mixture....she said it keeps the ricotta firm ...easier to cut & tastes better.....I use 5 or 6 eggs 😊

Why would you ruin a perfectly good lasagna by using Prego sauce? Let alone add sugar to it. Prego is already way too sweet.
