I can't get my arrows to fly straight with those G5 Montec broadheads. I've tried everything I can think of. From adding weight to reducing weight, longer vanes and all. I don't know what the deal is. I guess my bow just don't like'em lol. I got some cheap Amazon 2 blade broadheads on my arrows now and they fly better than the G5's do. Oh, And I learned how to serve a bow string. I re-served the original string that came on my mini striker and it turned out perfect. Man I love crossbows! ❤

Might sound a little crazy, but at the range for pistol crossbows I shoot without any sights, instinctive just like I do my trad recurves and longbows. Over a decade ago I was able to pick up a real basic regular crossbow at a pawn store for 20 bucks but it had no sights, but figured I'd try it for short range (especially bowfishing) without, since I'd been doing trad bowhunting a long time. With a little practice, and keeping within 20 yards, worked great. Started doing it not long after for pistol crossbows for the same purposes as here: making my own longer bolts and being able to put broadheads on them.

In my experience, the aluminum bolts that comes with those crossbows, are really precise, as they are a little heavier than the more thinner ones usually with broadheads, BUT aluminum bolts do get bent out of shape pretty easily, and so I start to experiment with other materials, and in my tests, the PVC bolts are way more resistant, when they hit a moderately hard target, they will spring back to approximately their initial shape many many times, and as they are light they are really really fast and will hit hard. Those big ones made out of big arrows are way too heavy, at a short distance and for soft target they will work thought.

It's not so much that is difficult to make your own bolts because it's not. The difficulty is having the right supplies. feather fletching for example. But the bigger issue I've run into with the mini striker specifically is matching the bolt diameter of the stock bolts(micro diameter) and trying to find the right accessories for that diameter. Some list inner diameter, some list only the outer diameter so your left guessing what insert will work with what diameter bolt.... It's one big crapshoot
