HOW TO MAKE DULCE DE LECHE USING A CAN OF CONDENSED MILK | Ep. 11 | Mortar & Pastry
Dulce de Leche is definitely a go to kitchen staple for that sweet creamy caramel flavor, and the good thing is that you can make it on your own at home! It's very easy to make and requires only one ingredient. This will give that caramel flavor that you want on your cakes and pastries, ice cream and other delicious desserts! All you need is a can of sweetened condensed milk.

They already put the food inside of the cans, seal the cans, and subject it to certain hot temperatures to sterilize and preserve them. It's important to remember though to always consume everything in moderation.

@@LuminousSpace Umbrella term is "Thermal Processing." Pasteurization is a type of thermal processing mostly done in milk and juice products.

Sinubukan ko ito kahit hindi ko pinakulo at mahinang apoy lang sumabog po. Sobrang Kalat at mahapdi sa Balat... lesson learned
We usually do it like this: We put tap water in a pot together with the cans and wait for it to boil and when the water starts boiling, we start a 5 hour count.
Sabay sa suman kapag nagluluto si Inay. Masarap...

Important Tip: If you want to make dulce de leche using this method, ALWAYS keep the can submerged in water to prevent explosion. If you want extra safety, use a pressure cooker where the lid can lock and secure the explosion if it were to happen. Third degree burns is no fun people

Haha! My dad is Argentine, he made that mistake before Bc he didn’t fully semerge, it. He still dosent and it dosent explode!

Such a delight! One time I made it and let it cool till warm and when I opened the can a bit of the dulce de leche flew in my eye. Next time I punctured the can and boiled it with water till 2/3 and covered it since the can was poked on top and it worked. No flying dessert.
I made it also today 1 can of condense i cover it. Once it whistle i started to Timer 1hr. & 20mins. And its perfect medium dark. Color of my Dulce de leche 👌👌

Nagawa ko na to. Grabe inabot na ako ng hapon sa paghihintay. Mas dark lang yung kulay na nagawa ko. Sobrang sarap grabe ang sarap papakin at ipalaman. Super worth it!

Ask ko lng po..bkit kya yung skin 8hrs ko ng niluto malabnaw pa rin.. Nag iba lng ng coor pero malabna pa rin

@@jacquelinecadion5480 ibang brand po ng condensed milk and dapat. Yung alaska na ginamit niya magiging dulce de leche,pero yung condensed creamer lang na alaska blue, kahit anong pakulo mo hindi lalapot at magiging dulce de leche

@@charocruz8320 I once transferred condense milk to a jar with lid and leave it refrigerated for about 24hrs, it thickens and tastes something close to like yema and/or dulce de leche. Albeit it was only once not twice. 😊😂😅 But seriously just try it. 👍😘
is it ok to just let the can soak until the water cool in?

Hi! Yes it will last longer as long as the can was not opened. I stored mine for six months actually unopened and its still good to be used. But once its opened, transfer the remaining contents to a separate jar and place it in the fridge. You can store it there for a month and use it when a recipe calls for dulce de leche.
