How to Make DUBSTEP / RIDDIM like SUBTRONICS (Serum Sound Design & Drop Breakdown)
Музыка
Yo what's up, in this video, I will show you how I made this dubstep / riddim drop in the style of SUBTRONICS! More specifically, his song Scream Saver. I will show you the sound design to create a big sustain bass that carries the whole drop and how to give it variation, and I will show you the sound design to create a wider bass to add rhythm to the drop.
Finally, we'll go over the characteristic arp that adds a melodic element to the whole drop, and how to create it.
I will also show you how to create a suspenseful intro using a good pluck sound and the harmonic minor scale!
I hope you like it, and as always, don't forget to like and subscribe! I truly appreciate it!

mistake at 1:11 - meant to say D, not C. I'm just used to the C# harmonic minor which is why I said C by reflex
Finally someone who knows how to make good sound design videos. Great work

I'm usually not a fan of these types of videos, but your explanation of your patches and general production style is sick! you killed it bro

yea I reproduced this one on my FL and you can definitely get a very similar result overall!

Nice content. Me personally I would use a dedicated sub and have a low pass to cut 200-250 mids and highs. Then have a duplicated track of the sub and do a hi pass filter From 200-250 and up. Feel like it helps with the mud. Not trying to flaunt but iv been studying this genre for a while now. Either way you can do it your way. There isn’t t any rules.

you're right, I usually always seperate the sub completely, not sure why I ended up doing it this way here, thanks for the feedback!
You shoulda probably finished this and released it before uploading. I think it’s a fresh sounding idea sounds great

thanks dude! good for you for wanting to start! you should start by choosing a DAW (depending on your budget i would recommend FL studio or Ableton), download a few samples packs to have some drums, and download one or 2 vsts (instruments) - in this video I used Serum, but a really powerful one that is free is Vital (i'll make videos using vital soon). Then just start playing around and watch videos - you can get in contact with me via discord and i'll be happy to help further

@@DRIZK0 hey man, I think your discord invite link is expired. Right now I am playing around with vital and i really like it but it's hard to realize something that is on my mind. I just have to play around a lot more

@@qsmfoui ah thanks for letting me know! i'll update it. yea recreating something you have in mind is the hard part, but you should approach it differently, instead of recreating what you have in mind, just create a random sound that you like and go from there - when you get more experience you can definitely build a drop around it

Can you explain how to do the midi notes and change them
@DRIZK0
15 күн бұрын
sorry i dont understand what you're asking. to add a midi clip in ableton you select an area and press cmd+shift+m, and then you can draw midi notes inside the clip
as you shown so elegantly on your quarter not bass, its all about post processing and not the patch itself
