This was very helpful! Thank you for the quick run down on Serum! I've been struggling to find someone that explains things properly without taking too long or making it overly complicated.

2:56 I like how you edited it to show an example of it being used, idk if this just happens to me, but sometimes I hear a synth and I hear no potential in it whatsoever but when you showcase it like that, it really gives context to what you just made.

Underrated af. Also Thank you for mastering your voice to match the music in the video. So annoying with other channels I have to turn my volume up and down the entire time

hey thank you!! i put alot of work into the audio side of my videos (even stuff that seems simple as keeping levels even throughout)

Just went to an Excision show the other night. lol. I loved dubstep when it was new and didn’t know it was “still a thing” and holy cow!!!!!! WOW! Haha. Anyway I was looking for videos on composition, not sound design, and your video was perfect!!! Thanks for keeping it on your channel even though it’s old. (The only one people watch on my channel is old, but people find it useful so I keep it up haha) THANKS AGAIN!

Am i missing something? Im trying to follow along and OSC B does nothing. But how would it, with the level all the way down. Im confused.

FM from B takes the wavetable from OSC B and combines it with OSC A (frequency modulation). the volume is down cuz I don't want the B outputting and only modulating. turning OSC A's warp knob increases the FM effect. Also this video sucks and im working on a better dubstep video

thank you very helpful, I do have a question if you have time . my bass wobble only does two wobbles then goes into a tone if I hold the key down not sure if that is an envelope setting (pretty new to serum and dubstep production so not even really sure how to explain hope that makes sense , thank you

if ur mapping envelope to a parameter it'll only play once if ur mapping LFO to a parameter make sure mode is set to trigger or off and it loops if none of these words make sense to watch this - kzread.info/dash/bejne/jIqMsJSeYZWoZ8o.html

Do these files not work with Ableton on Mac? I unzipped the chord rack and it popped up as a blank (unusable) download file even though I have Ableton 11 trial

what version of ableton do you have?

Any time I get a rack and add it to Ableton (ie. This rack)... I'm getting the message saying that only audio effects can be added..... I can't even access some build in FX due to this issue... Does anyone have a fix?

Awesome video! Thank you! I am relatively new to the joys of learning to make my own dubstep. I just have a quick question about the notes used in a dubstep drop for the bass. Does the heavy wub bass in a dubstep drop work in a similar way to say a breakdown in metal music? For example, if I wrote a song in F minor, would the heavy bass drop just consist of an F note? If you could get back to me I would be very grateful :). Thanks for all the excellent content :)

Quick question I’m a noob kinda my question for you is I see that your drums and snares are in a drum rack but I’ve learned that the drums should be as an audio file so you can sidechain the kicks; is there a reason that you use the drum rack vs audio I think your music is amazing btw not hating just wondering cuz I’ve dedicated my life to music

Quick question: At about 2:30 in your video, you show us that you can warp the osc B to give it that nerou-y sound. It sounds amazing! But when I do it on my serum, I get no sound coming from it. Is there a chance that you know why

We're definitely missing something. If I turn osc a off I get literally no sounds from Osc b until I turn the level up. But you have the level down. Are you sending b through a somehow?

No low end for the kick? For reals?

@@ashFB2B I did but nothing yet unfortunately. I also checked my filters and blocked addresses. I did manage to just make a similar effect chain though so it's cool. Is there really 2 OTTs stacked on the effect chain? Or is the 2nd multiband compressor on SerumFX?
