You can use spring onions or chives instead of the onion. I sometimes cut a garlic clove and smear the preparation bowl before I add the ingredients; the coleslaw will infuse a mild garlic flavour without having the acrid taste.

Love this recipe. We grill out hot dogs and toast buns then put the cold slaw on top. Great slaw dogs. Thank you.

Hi, looks very delicious. Very simple to make. I add some yellow onions and small pieces of apple for some crunchness 😋. Leave overnight in the fridge, tastes better the next day.
