    Morgane thank you for the recipes. You reminded me off my Grandma when she use to cook for me. She would put all her love into the food for us. We didnt have much money as a kid. But her love is still with me, and wonderful memories. Now I become a boss, and make money. Its never as important as time that I use to spend with her. I do miss her, and her cooking. Thank you so much.

    I will definitely be making these, the only thing i could add as far as advice is not to place the meat pie into oil that has not been heated first, or it will soak up oil and be unnecessarily greasy.

    I love your video and easy and simple explanation how to do it. I’ll definitely do them this weekend and I suggest that you can change the red meat with any light meat as well with out the meat can be done with cabbage . Great tutorial and as someone else mention wait for the oil to get hot otherwise the dough will absorb more unnecessary oil. Great video and I already subscribed. 🌹🍷

    My wife used flakey biscuits and rolled it out enough to put cooked hash browns beef or pork and cheese in it wrapped it up baked for the biscuits temp and time and my autistic son called them love pockets 😊👍👍 was a great lunch idea she made weeks worth at a time for us

  • @sandraolsen6596

    Just wonderful idea did your wife freeze them cooked or uncooked? And do you let them thaw out completely before you bake them? Or how did she reheat them or rebake them, and temperature and how long please? This is what I prefer to do also. Please can you ask her for all of us reading this. It is such a good way. And cuts alot of time down. Please and thank you very much for your time. By the way hoped you and your family had a wonderful VALENTINE'S .

  • @Dr.Marvelous

    @Dr.Marvelous

    @@sandraolsen6596 so when making love pockets I would slow cook a big pork roast, then pull it apart. Fry up some hashbrowns. I like to use o'Brien hashbrowns with the onion and peppers in them for a little more flavor. Let hashbrowns cool a little then mix in the cheese. (Lots of cheese) I find when working with store bought biscuits they are easier to work with if they are at room temperature. Fill biscuit with meat and hashbrowns. I cook them at temperature biscuit package says and about the same time indicated. At that point I broil them just to get a nice brown on the top. After they are cooled I wrap them up and stick them in the freezer. It made lunches for my husband so easy...he would take them to work and toss in the microwave for lunch. For me this was a all day project because I would make more than a hundred at a time. It is better to let defrost b4 microwave, or it be cold in middle 😊 Usually less than 2 min reheat

    One unspoken nice part of this simple recipe is that it may introduce people to using oyster sauce as a preparation ingredient (instead of use as a garnish) for the first time. Oyster sauce (and shitake mushrooms) adds a big boost to the umami of meat bun type foods whether they be bao or this type of puff pastry meat pie.

    Excellent recipe! Thank you for sharing it! Because I am gluten sensitive, I used my sourdough flat bread dough to make these. It's the same ingredients but they are fermented to break down the gluten. I did not stretch out the dough enough. Listen learned. This was sort of a dry run anyway. I made four of these plus four flatbread. Excellent recipe and easy to make. And there's a whole variety of ingredients that you can use for the filling. so if you are a pescatarian like I am, you can still enjoy this wonderful recipe. I used shrimp in mine.

    I love the stretching thin technique, appearance and the simplicity of the recipe. I'm definitely making this. 🙏 My only concern is, the meat in some parts looked raw. The dough is just to thick for the meat to cook thoroughly. And you fried them so that didn't give the inside enough time too cook because the outside was golden already. Baking would be much better. We make meat pies too in my culture. The meat is pre-cooked, also for egg rolls, and many other things that are made in this way. Thank you for sharing regardless. 🙏❤️🌹

We have something similar here in hawaii..but it's bao and is steamed or baked.. its bao / char siu..but its called Manapua ( mah nah poo ah ( flower = pua and mana = power) word has it..that it got its name from different places that made it had a red food coloring flower on top to distinguish who made it..this was generation's ago ..now everyone here still loves Manapua but the filling isn't only char siu ..they put a variety of stuff...i bit into one n was expecting char siu n got curry haha .. My fav is char siu.. In convenience stores they sell it along with pork hash..money bag gau gee..its a quick snack.. Tomorrow im gonna try make some thanks for sharing. Aloha
