Thank you, Elle for the respectful way you.. and everyone on the show(s) .. present recipes. This is yummy.
Hands down the best Shrimp cocktail recipe. Big hit with everyone, better than any other homemade recipe or restaurant.
WOW! This dish w/ cold rice salad would be a great dinner for hot weather.
I love watching Elle cook.
Great dish I love it. Just to add some local info, here in Mexico the pacific side uses cucumber on their coctel de camaron, the gulf is usually without cucumber and they add a kick with "hueva" which are eggs of fish not for everyone but way better in my opinion. Thanks for showing love to MEX and seafood
That was a better commercial for V-8 Juice than you see on TV!
Ms. Elle, looking forward to seeing more of you. Good clear voice and easy to follow
I watched this on PBS yesterday, chased you down on KZread today and made the recipe. It's simple and delicious. I had to purchase all the ingredients unfortunately (even the ketchup) and it came in at around $30 dollars. Not bad considering this made a ton and will easily be plenty as an appetizer for a large get together. Also this can easily be adapted to other meals. There's no reason this can't be served on a tortilla as a taco or over rice a a summer evening light dish.
In Mexico they would most likely use Clamato instead of V-8

I think V8 has a broader appeal. Clamato can be a bit much.
I've used v8 once to see how it tasted like on shrimp cocktail, and it was good but clamato is better. Plus I add some worcestershire sauce and half a can of orange soda (you can skip that one though), chopped tomato, and I peel and remove the seeds from the cucumbers, and chop it into smaller pieces to bring out the chunks of shrimp. God, now I want some!
Ms. Elle, outstanding recipe & my wife & I really like shrimp, I learned many yrs ago from a chef that the larger the crustacean the better the flavor, shrimp, lobster, craw fish, etc... it is true so I try to buy the largest I can afford, wild caught( no farm raised) I like the V-8 idea, God bless you & yours ma'am ,

Not always! The larger the shrimp are, the tougher they are, too!

@@chrissewell1608 my friend, those are usually farm raised shrimp & not wild caught, ( from the gulf)farm raised can be tough even when smaller like 21-26, etc...have a great Sunday pal
We add Valentina hot sauce to make it extra spicy! Yum 🤤

Looks delish, will be making it soon. Thank you for sharing. 😋
Love Elle! Can't wait to try this.
Just caught you and this recipe on Test Kitchen ...looks easy and delicious...love your hair ...i wear mine the same way...
This looks beautiful! My go-to, cooked shrimp with a dipping sauce of catsup and horseradish lol. Also great!
This recipe is mouth watering and healthy
Ms. Elle, btw, I'm Irish & will eat potatoes about any way they're cooked except rotten, lol, I still use your baked potato recipe from a while back, I think the temp sweet spot was 205-212 F( I'd have to check my recipe card) X cut the tater, goat cheese, etc...being Irish I thought I knew every way to make potatoes but obviously not as those are the fluffier russett baked potatoes I've ever eaten, God bless you & yours
I see that onion dice. Awesome recipe and video thank you Chef Scott!
This looks amazing. Thank you, ATK.
Ok this I have to try making it, it so easy.
Thank you. It looks so good. I did not have that in Mexico, but I'd like to try it anyway.
So delicious thanks 😊
Awesome! I love this dish. I get it at an oyster bar where it isn’t on the menu but the cook there is from Mexico originally and he will make almost anything you request. Looking forward to watching more of Elle’s videos. Her instructions are great and I love her voice.
This looks delicious and healthy, thank you!

This looks so good it makes me cry!
Looks delicious!! I'm ready to make it😋😋😋🦐🦐
I can't eat seafood however I wacthed just the same because of Elle
This is a regular rotation for me! Healthy for my type 2 diabetes!
V8 sounds good, better than ingredient list in Clamato (yuck). It`s 104 degrees here Nor-Cal and made a batch which is chillin` in the fridge to get super cold. This ATK recipe is missing a key ingredient, jalapeno or serrano chili`s which is a must have.
Made this and loved it. Had to add a few tsp of sugar though.

Use orange juice
For the broth I use ketchup and orange soda to taste and consistency , give it a try ,delicious
Oooh, you're so lucky Chris Kimball isn't around anymore to chide you about your avocado de-pitting! Just kidding! I love this recipe and have made it several times.
I agree that saltines sound to be the best accompaniment, for this combination of ingredients. Since I saw the Shrimp Scampi video, where you brine the shrimp, I've been using that method. Would any part of the brining process be used in this dish?
Looks like a healthy choice.
Yum! 🍤🌶️🍅
NICE
Great recipe does anyone know how long this will last in fridge?
Very nice. Those are pretty big shrimp. I thought the recipe was very well presented and prepared. Has anyone prepared this with whole shrimp? It must be so, but I don't know. I'd be especially interested if the shrimp were large.

I use whole shrimp and make a dipping sauce. I see no problem with you making this recipe with whole shrimp, just cut the avo bigger too.

I love this recipe. I could eat very large spoonfuls of it. There was a similar recipe I remember called "Flamingo Salad"? It had a mango salsa instead of a cocktail sauce background.
You look beautiful! You always do a great job.
nice
I love that recipe, but I must find something else to replace the shimp...any ideas?

Thank you, I thought of seafood that I like and can eat, like bass, monkfish, snapper, then you mentioned, "cauliflower" and I got excited; if that's doable, then, that's it! Much appreciated.

Coctel de Camaron = shrimp cocktail... SO... But this looks like more like a Shrimp Ceviche!
@heyelbs
2 жыл бұрын
A shrimp ceviche wouldn't have the shrimp cooked via boiling, rather "cooked" via acidification.
I use V-8 for tomato soup. Not too sweet & full of flavor.
Bas girl, m m m my Simone
Wow, you look so fine! Thanks for the recipe!
It’s originally a Salvadoran recipe, not Mexican. This is a recipe that goes all the way back to the Pipil, and slowly has migrated north and become popular in Mexico.
Sounds & looks delicious but omit the cilantro 😝
Clamato or bust tbh
You don't need to put shrimp in ice water.
