INGREDIENTS
2 lbs (908 g) large fresh shrimp
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
juice of 2 medium limes
11.5 fl oz can (340 m l) Spicy V8 vegetable juice
1 cup (225 g) ketchup
1 Tbsp (15 ml) Maggi Sauce
1 bunch of fresh cilantro
1/2 mediun onion
1 large jalapeno
2 scallions
1 large avocado
salt to taste

I’ve been alive for 40 years and this is the FIRST time I ever seen someone cook the shrimp in a pan to make shrimp cocktail Lol. It’s always boiled when I make it or get it from somewhere, but I guess I’ll have to try it this way some day 🙂

I was really young. I would make snacks for my siblings and I as a 6 year old. I remember making a meatloaf dinner at 13 years old for my family. I was a teen when I really started to cook and try recipes. 😊

Lady, the finishedTostada at the end was 5 star material, so classy, so beautiful and yet most important, so SCRUMPTIOUS! 😋But also being of open mind that ketchup didn't appeal to me, it was too runny, I glimpsed the brand and no wonder, I've accustomed myself to Heinz Ketchup BUT considering your great taste I'll check out this brand, it may be healthier(less sugar and corn starch than the Heinz brand). This is the first time I've seen a shrimp cocktail like this. I'm used to boiling my shrimp with spices letting it get cold after and adding it to a giant cup with some of the broth and adding cilantro, onion, tomato, cucumbers, magi and ketchup of course Tapatio too. Too that's a cocktail, but your way looks delicious too. I wanna try it. Btw wouldn't your way be more like a ceviche? Or is Ceviche only when cooked with lime..I don't even know lol. Thanks 😀💜

I’m not Angelica but I would think not low carb. The V8 and ketchup have a lot of sugar in them. Maybe if you swapped them for a low carb ketchup and tomato juice blend. I’m sure they make low carb tortillas now too, then you’re in business!
I have to chuckle at the size of your avocados there, I'm originally from California and remember avocados like that. Now I'm in Tennessee and they're literally like a 1/4 of that size. Definitely gonna need to make this soon.

Does anyone have any suggestions on substitutes for the shrimp? I’m allergic but I would love to try to figure out a way to enjoy this cocktail… also I love the way you measure with your heart! That’s how I cook too. I started cooking for my family when I was pretty young so, anyways enjoy your day! 💕✨

You can try jaiba(crab)!!! I usually eat it with both combine but since you're allergic just use jaiba:)
