I am soooo glad that you offered a quicker way to present when making banana pudding and, especially, the part about the pudding being instant and the bananas being ripe and sweet while removing overly ripened areas. It tends to disturb me a little when people, constantly, put in the crude "end" parts of the banana and "overly" ripened areas. Thanks for being down to earth without compromising taste!

Ms. C.....I've had bp both ways and I prefer scratch....Anyways got a tip 4 u ....2 prevent bananas from browning ..slice them and add 1 tsp. or 2 tsp (depending on amount ) of fresh lemon juice and stir coating bananas. ....they will not oxidize!....same with apples for apple pie

To keep a bunch of bananas fresh for longer, wrap the stems in some plastic wrap. Re-cover the bananas with the wrap after removing one. This method prevents ethylene gas, produced naturally in the ripening process, from reaching other parts of the fruit and prematurely ripening it.

I make one of my versions just like this. The only exception is I add whip cream in the layers of pudding. I normally let it sit overnight so the cookies can get kind of soft. But people should definitely try this version because it's less work than making your own custard and it's tasty.

I too use the French Vanilla and Banana flavored instant puddings. However, I don't make a meringue.... I use Cool Whip on the top. I also pour my pudding in right away to prevent it from setting as I too want to make sure all of the cookies are covered. You have definitely given me another way to try my recipe. Quick tip for making homemade custard. Whisk up ingredients except any butter and vanilla then microwave 2 minutes...whisk, 2 more minutes...whisk, 1 minute...whisk, and then 1 more minute if needed till thick enough. Usually about 6 minutes is enough. Add in butter and flavorings after. Can make meringue while microwave is doing the other work. No standing over stove stirring. It really works and time is based on power of microwave. I understand ease of instant pudding mixes but we need to watch our sodium here so do the scratch microwave method instead. But the microwave is a game changer for me for puddings. Works for a chocolate custard type pie as well. Your pudding looks good and I do enjoy your channel.

This is the real deal with the home made whipped cream. That's the best ! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe. Specially with the French Vanilla hint. I pay what ever for a little plate of this dish.

Hey Ms Chris, I love your recipes. I notice on your banana pudding you did not list the 🍌 bananas in the ingredients. Do keep the recipes coming thank you. I'm definitely going to get your cookbook.

Thanks Miss Chris for the new twist with (French Vanilla & banana creme) pudding mix. I'm from the south and my mama taught me how to make banana pudding when I was in my teens. I've always made my pudding fresh but since I've gotten older (now 65) & arthritis has gotten in my hands I will try your new short cut & see if my kids & grandchildren can tell the difference, lol 😁. I promise to let you know the results 🤣🤣🤣. Love your channel & I can't wait to start baking again.

Fyi miss Chris, I went food shopping last weekend & I thought I'd look for the banana and French vanilla pudding mix. At my market I only found the banana cream pudding mix. I thought that I'd get my fixings early bcs next month (Thanksgiving time) you may not find any, lol. 😂😂😍😍. I can't wait to make my banana pudding with your twist next month. Have a blessed weekend ✝️😇❤😍🌹

Thanks Chris. This looks delicious and so easy to make. I think I might use fewer cookies and more bananas, but that's just my personal preference.
