Simply put, omelettes are a brunch-worthy way to feature eggs at breakfast. You can toss in your favorite veggies, meats, cheeses, and even sauces. I'm a meat eater so I like to have sausage, bacon and cheese in my omelettes lol.
Lovely filling options. I love omelets for dinner with a simple salad of greens and vinaigrette. Usually a veggie omelet with broccoli, zucchini, spinach, and asparagus with white cheddar. But I loved an omelet served in a local restaurant that's no longer in business that filled the omelet with cream cheese and avocado slices. I added sautéed mushrooms and it was just delicious with crusty sourdough toast.
Oh wow! This is the exact technique I used when I was in my early teens and made omelettes every weekend. My dad would say "that's not how you make them", but I think experimenting in the kitchen to find a technique that works is like discovering gold
THANK YOU! I've struggled for decades with making omelettes. Finally got brave and decided to watch your video. This is a game changer. My favorite fillings, Swiss cheese, ham or chicken, mushrooms, a little spinach. There is a breakfast place here called Hobees that makes a tomato basil sauce they serve in a small bowl with their meals. It is wonderful on top of any egg dish. So now on to figuring how to make that 😆😆😆

If you only knew how much this video is appreciated. I love eggs, but my omelettes always fall apart which then turns into scrambled eggs. I will definitely be trying this method this weekend. Favorite ingredients: mushrooms, jalapeños, mustered greens and of course onions.

I made this tonight!! I added bacon pieces and seasoned with Tony's seasoning and garlic Tabasco sauce. My pan was overly hot and I forgot to lower the heat at first so mine got a bit darker than yours. This idea saved my dinner tonight!! Thank you again!!

Breakfast or Italian sausage crumbles, red pepper, yellow onion, spinach and white cheddar cheese!😋 I cook up a whole pound of sausage, then drain the fat off, and split it into 3-4 small freezer containers for quick use on busy mornings. I’m NOT a cereal fan but LOVE breakfast so if all of my veggies are prepped and sausage precooked, a very nice breakfast can take me less than 5 minutes to prepare! I also make scrambled omelets often but I think I’m gonna try this method! Thanks for sharing🥰

I like your omlet making method and recipes. My preference is to flip the omelet over to also cook the uncooked side and after flipping I then add all of the ingredients to the cooked side and fold in half after that.

That is a different way to cook omelets than what I do. I pre-cook any ingredients that need to be and add them to the beaten raw egg. Then pour all onto a pan, wait the 2 - 3 minutes, add any cheese, fold, and add herbs. My favorite ingredients are Spinach, cherry tomatoes, feta and bacon.
I love omelets... my favorite breakfast meal. The mushroom spinach omelet & the western omelet look amazing! Not sure about the Tuscan omelet because I never tried pesto but im open to trying new food so I'd would try it!

I love omelets! I've had the most luck cooking them in a pan with the lid on - I find that it just makes the fluffiest eggs and the most satisfying omelet! I find omelets are a great way to reuse leftover vegetables from the previous night's dinner, so I generally just use what I have on hand. When I'm making omelets for dinner or for a group as a more standalone meal, I love including onions, red peppers, and black beans, seasoned generously and topped with avocado and fresh tomato!

Adding a lid steams the eggs and gives them a very different texture. I wouldn't recommend it. But if you like it that is all that matters!🙂🙃😉

I like diced tomatoes 🍅 on top when it's finished. But for my filling, I like onion 🌰, red bell pepper 🫑, spinach, sometimes mushrooms, and cheese 🧀. Your ideas are very delicious also 😋!

I think I'll make mine with mushrooms, bell pepper, minced garlic, chopped bacon, and avocado, topped with green onion!

That sounds so delicious! I haven't tried seafood in an omelette yet, but I'm sure it's so tasty.
The most important thing to me is a good quality pan. I have both an 8-inch and a 10-inch All-Clad nonstick pan. I always use them for eggs. I couldn't live without them. I do not like cast iron. My favorite omelette fillings are onion, mushroom, red, orange, or yellow bell pepper (no green), and spinach. The toppings that I like are a dollop of sour cream or queso fresco, avocado slices, and Pico de Gallo. I always use olive oil but now I want to try avocado oil per your suggestion! One thing I do differently is I wait to salt my eggs until they have set, right before I add my fillings. I like the texture of the eggs better. But I do add the pepper in the beginning as you do. Now I'm off to make an omelette! You have made me very hungry. 🙂🙃😉 Thank you for another very informative and pleasurable video. 🤩

I’ve been cooking for years. Many times I’m just impatient in making my omelet. Thanks for reminding me I need to slow down! I use spinach and prepared salsa with a sprinkle of ,colbyjack cheese.

My all time favorite omelette I ever had was at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. It was a brie and lobster omelette. YUM! Decadent but so good!

It’s been awhile since you have done a meal prep video. Video idea: 2 week spring meal plan! 🙏🏻
My go to omelette in restaurants are the mediterranean. But now that I'm familiar with ingredients, I now make my own at home. My omelette method was never of the scramble kind, this was new to me, I usually swirl the egg around to the pan for egg to cook, then add ingredients. But would notice eggs weren't finished. So, i'd nuke them haha. Thank you for this because NOW I know why my eggs wouldn't cook thru because of the pan size, that makes sense why my eggs wouldn't cook through. I will try this!

I love omelets too! I make mine almost the same way, cook on low heat, then cover with a lid. It cooks through evenly without browning the omelet. My favorite omelet is filled with cheese and topped with a dollop of plain Greek yogurt with a sprinkle of chives.

@@chicagomycity Yes I do place the lid on right after I fill the omelet. Sometimes I add sauteed mushrooms and onions. But, cheese is still my favorite! Enjoy!
I noticed you used a Henkels pan. Do you prefer those over AllClad?

Cast iron skillet is way to go, pour in the scrambled eggs, then cover with a lid, let the steam firm up the top of the eggs a bit before flipping. Sprinkle some smoked paprika on top when done - amazing!
this helped! (first time making an omlet) but then when i let it sit, "THERE"S A AIR BUBBLE IN MY OMLET!" i poppped it and now there is a hole lol but its acually pretty good for a first omlet in my opinion

I remember learning off this video, but for some reason. The first couple where right. Now somewhere in the process i must be forgetting or not doing something right cause i keep getting scrambled eggs. Like my eggs keep melting to the pan. I remembered you saying to just leave it instead of squishing the contents to the center. So that's what i did. But always sticks to the pan. I whisk it in a bowl. Use about like two eggs for it. I'm thinking maybe i don't use enough butter or cook it too long but i'm not sure. I did forget about the omelet cooking it'self if it's a little runny. But always seems impossible then to flip it over itself cause it sticks. And cause if i tried just letting it slide out to the plate it spills the liquid all over. Any suggestions ? You think the butter's the issue too ?
