I am posting a lot of Shorts last few months, and the most important thing is to have some kind of strategy. People now like expressive content, so make those and post them consistently (after posting something I usually use a bit of Famester so it is easier for my content to go viral). It is also important to watch how many times you post, how much you create, so you could possibly avoid burnout.

Definitely not. Vidiq is honestly completely clueless how youtube works for today's small creators... I used to follow all Vidiq advice only to have my channel die after 18 months, stuck at 500 subs. Now I deliberately don't use most of the things I originally learned from Vidiq, and just a month later, I'm at 1.3k subs... biggest thing I changed? I now blame the algorithm... the algorithm sucks! So I now make content for the algorithm first, audience second. Completely the opposite of what Vidiq keeps saying... and with veey few exceptions all my videos now perform well

I have been waiting for a video like this as short form content creator.

Has anyone noticed large short creators using this retention hack where a bug walks across part of the screen for absolutely no reason? Or they would put an eye catching object in the video randomly. Going to try that little trick before everyone starts using it

We recently switched to becoming only a shorts channel and it has made such a big difference and helped us solidify a niche we can love along with letting me create our content without eating so much of my free time. Already have massively different numbers in just the last few weeks than I ever did in the last several months.

cool, just know that shorts subs don’t necessarily transfer to longform content so make sure you either care more about the depth of the topic making them wanna watch you long vids or focus on shorts entirely I personally had 200ish subs for 9 months and just in 1 week I got to a 1000! and reached 1300 in 3 months and then again, from the past week till now I got to 1,780 oh and also, be patient , the short that got me 1000 subs and got 1.4 million views (and still gets 5-10K views per day) was uploaded 200 days before it got viral!!!! it had 10K views for 200 days , keep that in mind, believe in yourself and dominate

@@AliChitax Yea. I definitely kept that in mind. I always wanted to make videos that show my wife and I just having fun gaming. The long form videos felt a bit forced and not as genuine at times, but the shorts are purely genuine and just us being ourselves because I'm able to catch those more natural moments and share them. It has become a bit of a collection of ours to look back on fondly and for others to see and relate to with their significant other. I'm still in my first year of starting this channel, so I'm excited to see it grow over time.

I really prefer this type of long form content because i treated it as a course so i take my time to actually sit and watch the full video. And if in the future i forget about some points i just come back and watch it all again

@VidIQ Thank you for an informative and helpful video. I have two questions - one Shorts related, one not Shorts related but came up in the video. 1) You talk about Retention but don't talk about how frequently to switch clips in a Short. Is this important for Shorts, if so how frequently? If it helps I'll be launching an AI Avatar Shorts channel soon. 2) You mention that you wouldn't recommend reuploading videos as it could end up with a shadow ban imposed by KZread. I'm going to relaunch a Long form channel later this year. I was going to start by reuploading old videos with B-Roll, animated video clips and where needed reedited the video/parts of them so there's a better structure - a story style structure. The original audio would be more or less the same. Will reuploading these videos this way see my channel shadow banned? Will I not see an uptick in Views/Subs until I upload completely new videos? Great information as always! Shorts are not for me, at least not now, I still lack the charisma to draw people's attention. But I will definitely try them in the future In the meantime I will stick to the long-form content and learn more :)

Always post shorts on your mobile as unlisted or planned. On your mobile you can choose a thumbnail, however on your desktop you can add description, tags, etcetera, which really helps the short kick off once it goes public.

Im wondering if i can get your advice, i just started uploading consistently for only about a week and it consists of mostly shorts. I have had some pretty surprising turn over on more than a few shorts and got a few subscribers from it already, so my question is what should i do now? Should i keep going with what I’m doing or change course just a little and put out more videos over shorts. Also should i worry about this little bubble of success popping soon and bringing the views back down to more reasonable numbers? I love your videos, they have really helped me learn an immense amount already! Thank you for your time!

Is it OK to keep your shorts published or unlisted? Which one should I do unlisted or publish?

Creating Content in one of the most competitive games .Started posting Shorts Right From the Start . Struggled with Low Retention so started trying out different topic ( funny content)within the game with less saturation and views jumped from 50-100s to anywhere going up to 11k . Retention improved as well . Lets see how it goes ❤

One simple question : after adding channel tags my channel started to get down. From 30-40 subs per day it started to get 4-5 subscribers per day, from 80 views per hour it started to get 7-8 views per hour. May channel tags trigger the issue? Ps: channel tags are completely relevant to the content

I have a question because I used to post a short a day. So what I am doing now is 4 Shorts a week, my 2 Livestreams, and 1 Long form a week. This way it gives shorts a day or two to get momentum.

This individual serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring content creators in the small creator community.

Can you do about long form videos like this one for 1 hour instead of many 10 mins

One piece of advice: blame the algorithm. Vidiq doesn't get this, but certainly with shorts it's the most important thing to grow. Make content for the algorithm first, audience second... I now often grow with 50-100 subs per day, since implementing this strategy... by completely ignoring most of Vidiq's advice

The copyright claim thing on shorts using YT music is not right. Nearly every time i use that feature it gets a notice.
