How to Make a Wood Digital Clock

I tried making remake to wood clock based on Akizuki electronic watch kit.
The size is about 11 cm × 6 cm. I think that it is a good size when placed on a desk etc. because it is compact.
Even if the room is bright, letters are visible so visibility is good.
【How to make】
1. Assemble the clock kit
2. Connect (modify) the display part and the body part with a conductor
3. Make a box with MDF
4. I will paste the sheet of wood and finish it

Hi JSK, is the Veneer sheet you used on the front of the watch the same one you used to surround the watch case, just thinner?

There are 4 colored buttons on the PCB. Those are probably the controls.

I got a bit OCD over two things: leaving the two amber LEDs in place instead of reusing the two red LEDs that were taken off, and soldering the leads from the top side.

ありがとうございます。 言われてみると・・・・ 皮膚が丈夫なんで、少しぐらいの擦り傷ならすぐに治るんですよ。 薬剤とか素手で作業しても滅多に荒れませんし・・・

１０年前から気になってはいるんですが、特に必要性が無いのでスルーしていました。 使い勝手が良いなら試してみても良かったのですが、頻繁に使うものじゃないですしね～ありがとうございました。
うーむ スゴい
秒コロン、LED変更した方が良いと思う。もっと低照度で7セグのコロンと同じ大きさぐらいのが良いですね。東芝製など探せばありますので、お勧めします。現状だと色味も明るさも違和感が… 大きなお世話ですね(^^♪
私はエレキットのLEDデジタル時計を死蔵しています。これを参考に復活させたいです!!

Use a soldering iron that can adjust the temperature. Use lead - containing solder. Cleaning the tip of the soldering iron cleanly. I think that it will be successful with these three points.

Thank you so much. Super cute. By the way a battery-powered type of digital clock with an on/off switch attached to the back of the box can be much more preferable. Since it's cordless -- it's easy to be placed any where around the house. Is that possible?

Instead of veener if you use red Plexiglas it would have been much more brighter than it is now. Still liked the build.

なぜ一度黒に塗装したのですか？ 塗装した方がシールの付きが良いとか？

7セグメントLEDが黒いので0.3ミリの厚さの板ではおそらく透けて見えてしまう。それをカムフラージュするためだと思われます。
黒い塗装はどうしてですか？

セグメントLEDの黒色が透けるからです。
First of All look's good, second it's not wooden, third it's MDF...
Now China is mass producing these and selling them on aliexpress.
