How To Make A TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK COVER | VINYL OR LEATHER

Learn how easy it is to make your own Traveler’s Notebook Cover. This cover can be made using vinyl or leather. This is a sewing project that requires only basic sewing skills.
For all you hardcopy planners, this is a great way to organize your calendars, planners, and notebooks. This cover holds
• Up to FOUR notebooks
• ID window
• Two side pockets to hold planner stickers, notes, etc.
• Pen/pencil holder
• Notepad holder
MATERIALS & ITEMS NEEDED:
• 1/3 yard vinyl or leather
• 1 or ¾ Inch Elastic ( 2 ½ inches)
• Posterboard
• 1 mm elastic (46 inches)
• 2 mm elastic (14 inches)
• 2 mm Leather Hole Punch
• Hammer or Mallet
• Sewing Machine & Matching thread
• Universal sewing machine needle size 90-100
• Paper clips or fabric clips
• Rotary cutter or Scissors, cutting board
• Clear vinyl for ID window (optional) 8 ½ x 2 ½ inches
• 1/8 inch eyelet (optional)
• Straight Pins
• Seam Gauge or Ruler
• Masking Tape or Painters Tape
• Small Bottle Lid ¾ inch for rounding corners

Wow this is one the best videos I have seen. Very organized, thorough and easy to follow! I can’t wait to make this and I will be doing it by hand as I don’t have a sewing machine! I tried heat and bond instead of sewing as my bottom thread was going wonky on my sample of vinyl. It bonded to the cardboard but only patchy on the vinyl so I used FabriFix and it worked well. PS I also used a dental loop for flossing bridges to get the elastic through the holes 👍🏽

Thank you for your video. I need a new travel folder. I find it tough to buy what I want at a reasonable price. I like your idea of using vinyl because leather is very expensive. What I really need help with is making the elastics to hold the notebooks I want. Edit by the way, your finished journal is beautiful, and you used my favorite color too!
