How To Make A Reverse Reverb Effect In FL Studio

Музыка

This video will show you how to make a revers reverb in FL Studio. This is a great trick to use when you want to add more ambience to a sound. It can be used to start a track or after a break for example. When you do this, any sound will appear to fade into itself. This can be useful when you want a smooth transition.
Another important thing that was not shown in the video is that some sounds need to be reversed BEFORE rendering out the reverb in order for them to properly fade into themselves. A pad sound doesn't need that, but if you go for a vocal for example, or any other sound that evolves over time, then you need to reverse it first, before rendering out the reverb.

    Usually, the reverse reverb effect on vocals is recorded with the sample already reversed... As in before you record you reverse the sample, then add the reverb, then record the reversed version. Once you have the recording you reverse it again so it's back to the original. It works great when you have more lyrical content cause it transitions it into the first word/phrase :)

    That's true. This video was rushed quite a bit, and there's many things I forgot to do here. Like showing cross fading, stretching the sample in / out etc. This is why I didn't originally publish it. I'll probably make a new one as soon as I get some more time on my hands. Perhaps during the upcoming holidays. :)

    Indeed. I made this over a year ago, but I had little time making it and I ended up feeling like it was rushed, so I didn't publish it. Still, there's some good info in there, all though it's not as through as it should have been. :)

    Make sure you use stretch or generic as the algorithm in the sample, not resample (if you use resample you will also affect the speed of the sample). Then use the pitch knob. 100 cents = 1 semitone. So if you want to pitch it from say C and up to D, then you'll have to increase it by 200 cents (C#,D).

    Hey is this a good way to cut off a pad sound? Rendering it to a wav and slice that up? Like I can make an ending chord as short as possible in the piano roll but it continues to play.

    Now that I think about it I can use volume automation. Duh lol

  • @FireWalkMusic

    @FireWalkMusic

    5 жыл бұрын

    Indeed. You can use an automation clip, or render it to a wav and chop it up with the cop tool. If it doesn't stop right away then it's usually a setting in the VST itself. Too much release for example.
