Right my second attempt at making this, first time I was trying to use the heat cable I had already purchased, but it was 150w and 16 metres. So I ordered a 25w at 4.5 metre heat cable, just waiting to see if it gets up to temperature now Ive put the probe in the rub, it’s taking a little longer than the 16m but I think I would of had cooked eggs in it😊 If I enjoy breeding then I’ll get a drinks fridge and use the 16m heat cable in that, thankfully I’ve got a few years to get it right as only have 2 adult males and 1 female at breeding age

Hehe I bet that was tedious trying to wrap that many metres around and around! You’re right it would have been way too much of a surge of heat . The other will take longer to warm but once warmed should easily stay warm with little output of electric . And shouldn’t spike much when thermostat turns off . It is trial and error but I think unless the whole Thing is in a feeding cold room it will work now …

@@falconry.davesharpenatureboy it was and it spiked at 105 when the thermostat turned off, would of send a photo. But couldn’t through youtube. But inside the rub it’s at 90, but outside the rub it’s 86 But it’s a dry run

I brought a lucky reptile 2 incubator and found out, it’s no good for python eggs as to small, so I’ve managed to get a polystyrene box, so will hopefully be building this as don’t want anything to big for a first time breeder.
