Handy little jig. I should make something like that. Would probably be quicker than using my router for roughing out some circles.

Nice design. I like it a lot. For work piece stability, make the piece in the miter slot the same height as the rest of the jig.

nice project , i would add 2 support pieces at the intersection of the beam with the miter slot to form a support table for the material that you are cutting. with those support pieces you material won't wobble when you are cutting the circle. good job :)

I like it! Very simple idea. Looks easy to build. I would probably add some support wings but other than that l think its a great idea and its small and easier to store than most others lve seen. Nice job and loved the video

smart design!would you mind to tell me whether you always remove the round alu plate in the center to give space for the jig hook, or the plate does have little use as saw blade goes its own way?

Cool build on this jig Patrick. These are very useful on a band saw.

  • @cybercapri

Here is an idea you may find useful. To add stability you can run a few scrap pieces from the far end of your jig to the table lock piece and that might keep the work piece from wobbling as it spins. If need be you can add a 4" or 6" piece on the tail to extend the side pieces that you add for a bit more stability and it will not interfere with your locking mechanism as it is. The piece that fits in the slot can be lengthened a bit to extend the front of the stability pieces as the wider it is the more stable it will be once locked into place. I hope this helps.

Hi Patrick, great jig, thanks for posting. How about making the " business end" ply block a little longer than just the two inches to secure the two pieces of channel, say six or eight inches? This would support the work piece as you rotate it to ensure a perpendicular cut to your saw table. Thanks again, Tim
