Thank you for this tutorial!! What if we don’t want to use bias tape or binding and just want to have neat edges? Would we put the front and back pieces on top of each other, facing each other, and do an inside out flip?
@AndraMakes
Ай бұрын
You are most welcome! Yes, you can. Just be careful with placement order, so your pockets don’t come out on the front or back of the cover! 💗
This a great idea for stash busting - those pieces that are too small for making clothes but too big or nice to turn into cabbage or other scraps! I can imagine this pattern scales up and down for different uses, and with kids starting school in a few weeks this could be a nice back to school gift for someone. I know have an idea for dying fabric with food stuffs and making a note book cover for cooking and recipes.. stop giving me ideas!!!!!🤣

@@AndraMakes well I do have a couple of avocado skins I was going to use for dying yarn. But I think this would work better and come up with another idea for yarn colours. If I do make something I'll be sure to link this video so people know how the professionals do it..🤭

Hi Andra, this is awesome. I have a question on the binding... Are you sewing the binding on with the fold crease upward versus downward?
@AndraMakes
10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, Zelda! Im sorry, but, I’m not sure what you’re asking. Can you reword it? I’m not sure what you mean by upward and downward. 💗
@ZeldaSews
10 ай бұрын
@@AndraMakes I'm sorry, I'm trying to explain it, right... the double faced binding has 2 folds and then it folds in the center, so you have a total of 3 creases. It looked like when you sold down the bias with the raw edges together. On the right, the crease was "tented" upwards.
@AndraMakes
10 ай бұрын
@@ZeldaSews Yes, tented up should work, if that’s the way I had it. Keep me posted. 💗
If you have a directional pattern for the front and back which direction does the pattern go in the hoop?
@AndraMakes
3 ай бұрын
Hi, Karan! Are you wanting to monogram the front of the notebook cover? If so, you will want the directional fabric right side up, and not upside down. 💗
Adam Sews sent me! I’ve a question: what advantage does the elastic pen pocket have over sewing the pen pocket directly to the cover? It does seem simpler to attach using the elastic.
@AndraMakes
10 ай бұрын
Hi, Lesa! It’s purely aesthetic! Feel free to sew the pen pocket directly onto the cover! Just make sure you do it as the first step. Otherwise, you will sew the interior pocket closed and won’t be able to slide the notebook in. Let me know if you make one/some! 💗

How would I make a fax leather cover for a small book

Hi, Ann! There may be some tutorials on KZread for a faux-leather small book cover. The tutorial I have is for the specific size notebook I show and talk about in the video. 💗
where do you get decorative elastic? so cute!!!

Thank you so much, Stefanie! JoAnn has ruffled elastic in fun colors (Hobby Lobby and/or Walmart may have it, also). And, ETSY has some fun, decorative elastic, too! Let me know if you make one/some of these! 💗
Wouldn't it be better to sew the pen holder on the front of the book cover.
