    Yes I added the pen holder because the covers were 'aligatoring' and I wanted them to stay closed - dual purpose 🙂

    @@dmhaight I wasn't kidding 'cause I just finished making one and OMG, it came out so beautiful. I went for the Victorian look with cardstock of that period, pearls, bling and lace. I plan to make more. They're too cute not to. Thanks again for inspiring me Dawn.

    I got everything to make this It is such a nice idea! Thank You for the video. I cannot find the sticky canvas Iv'e tried Hobby Lobby, Joanns, Amazon is out of stock. Is there something else I can use that is comparable? Thank You in advance.

    You can use bookbinding tape from Amazon. It comes in large rolls 2 or 2.5" wide - you'll need shimmer trim to extend the bound area. I have another video making the smaller size notebooks and it has an updated list of supplies

    I've recently just started paper crafting , and I really enjoyed this tutorial. Your method is alot different than others I've watched and tried, and I learned some new techniques, which I will definitely try. I like the added textures and added details to your project.     Hi Cathy! Thanks for watching :-) I'm glad you've found this video helpful! My glue pen is a retired product from Close to My Heart, but you can find a comparable product from Zig at big box craft stores and Amazon. Look for Wide Tip Glue.

    Thank you! Hmmm... I've never done a flap close, but you could probably add an additional piece of chipboard with a second strip of book tape to the back cover, and secure it to the front with magnets. You've given me some ideas!💕

    Patterned papers for covers 6 x 10; inside piece approx 11 3/4 x 8 1/2; sleeve 4 x 8; corner pocket 5 x 5; chipboard 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Check the playlist for my updated video posted this month using current products.

    ****Don't Forget**** If you're gifting, check whether the person is left-handed or right-handed. If you're selling, Make a few left-handed notepad covers To make these left-handed Place the pocket triangle on the right side of the cover and the notepad holder on the left side. It's that easy and the lefties in your life or your left-handed customers will certainly appreciate it.

    This is a wonderful tutorial. I am traveling to Paris and would love to make theses for all in our party. I think i would like to make the note pad open from the side and not the top. Any suggestions on paper pads and how to change the assembly? Thank you.

    You could easily turn the sleeve for the notepad the other direction (altering the width for the height of the notepad) and then slide it in. A small spiral-bound notebook might work.

    Thank you! I cut the chipboard with my paper trimmer: cut one side, then flip it over and cut again along the same line.

    I just stumbled across this video and love it! One thing--could you tell me all the sizes of your pieces. You talked low on this part and couldnt catch them all. Also that canvas tape is not available--I run across 2inch book binding tape--is that suitable?

    I believe it has been discontinued, but you can find bookbinding tape on Amazon. The one I use comes in big rolls in various colors, 2" wide.

    Sadly, CTMH no longer makes Bonding Memories but you can find one by Zig Kuretake called broad tip glue that works.

    @@dmhaight thank you for your reply, that search brought up 2inch tape. I think your KZread video was so popular there has been a run on the canvas! Do you think plain canvas plus glue would be okay to substitute for the sticky-back canvas?

    The book binding tape would work or a wider version of it could also work. An option with plain canvas would be to use double sided adhesive with it - you can get Scor-tape in various sizes. (Liquid glue would be very messy and wouldn't have the right flexibility)

    I have everything except this "sticky-back canvas" product. Never heard of it. I even have the ink pens. Bummer. Is there an alternative to the canvas? Great video and project. EDIT: Wait, is that book-binding canvas? I might have some of that...but where? Hmmm EDIT 2: Can't find any....maybe I'll try my black Duck Tape for now... ha ha. A practice one.

    Yes, I found this product that works: amzn.to/4969Qa1 It's book binding tape and comes in a variety of colors. The sticky back canvas has been discontinued.     You'll see it after I add shimmer trim. They are 2 loops of grosgrain ribbon.
