Well done! Wouldn't it be 'easier' to instead use plywood. For example 15mm plywood and use 3 strips on top of each other. It would still be 45mm high but you could drill the holes easier and wouldn't need a router for it. when the holes in 2 of the 3 plywood boards are cut, you can glue (and nail/screw to proceed faster) them togeter so you can put in the 0.5kg plates. All in all great build. definately keeping this in the back of my head when i'm going to try and convert my plate loaded leg curl/extension to a stack weight one :D

Thanks for the comment! It definitely would be a lot easier. My dad came up with this too after I made theses 😅 I might make just a video where I try this method though 😉 At least now the blocks do look clean from the outside! 🫡

@@BarRookie You can always put a veneer on the exposed plywood if that bothers you. But i personally like the look of exposed plywood, especially in diy projects. You can also primer and paint the blocks to cover the plywood.

I personally like the look of plywood too! Only thing that would bother me is that not all planks for 1 block are equal. say tuned brother, will be making such a block just to test it in the near future!

@@BarRookieHow do you mean? With plywood they would all be the same, no? Anyway, where did you get those plate holder things? Can't seem to find it at Gamma of Brico 😂

How come each wooden plate is 5kg

Great question my friend! So the block itself is 2 kg and I added 6 plates of 0.5 kg per block. So 2 + 6*0.5 is 5 kg. Hope that helps!
