Theme Mixer uses tons of RAM and can cause a lot of FPS loss - finding one single great theme will allow for substantially higher FPS in come cases (Gramercy almost doubled in FPS without Theme Mixer!)

I agree completely on the use of props! I've always been against over detailing, since this is a CITY building, not a "street" or a "house" level building game. Unless of course that's all you want to do which is completely fine!

@@PresCities They certainly have and it has come a long way since it's launch on console. They had season pass which I bought and it was well worth it. Season pass one had all the DLC's up to mass transit. They were launched in order and not all at once. There was also some mods and assets ( at least for Xbox one although PlayStation 4 may have it now.) There was also Art Deco content creator pack. Obviously were still well short of having all the capabilities of PC version but it is certainly enough to make great looking cities although it obviously still not were the quality of some of the awesome and realistic cities of PC. There is a big announcement for the console players on January 31 and I am very excited about it. Many are suspecting a season pass 2 and hopefully this gets us closer to having more of the options and assets that PC has. I definitely enjoy playing this game on console but to be honest I would enjoy it on any device and hopefully that includes PC in the future. Have a great weekend!

Hi! Big fan. you posted a screenshot on reddit "Custom sidewalks are so satisfying!" and in it, there is a curb cutout with a vent asset above it. How were you able to make the curb cutout? For the life of me, I cannot find it anywhere. The closest I found was a suburb road pack, but to force the cutout I would have to make a T-intersection because it only does it as a crosswalk, whereas your screenshot seems to be for an actual driveway. Anyway, I hope you're able to help me with this, but if not, no big deal. Thanks in advance, regardless!
Got a question. I had 16 GB or ram (2x8) sticks but it did not have ddr4 capability. I recently bought another 16 GB (2x8) sticks with ddr4 capability. Would it be better to have 32 GB of ram or should I stick with the 2 newer ones with ddr4 capability?

Hey Mr. Pres. I followed this video and on the second tip, which said to create detailed houses in the asset editor, some of the trees that I subscribed to in my second account on steam workshop didn't show up in the asset editor. It showed up in the Load Asset panel. It didn't show up in the decorations menu. Can you help me please?

But if I unsibscribe from an asset being used. Will it dissapear?
Do you recommend ploppable Ricco?. I remembre geting it but struggling to understand how it works. Excelent video btw.
Is there a mod youre using to make the actual city look more realistic? i would love to know what it is if so!, it looks amazing
So I know editing the assets saves time, but why do we need to do that in a separate account? Didn't quite understand sorry.
How do I get the hotbar at the bottom with all the options because I dont have it, it is at 3:44
when showing of the cities on google earth around 6:50, whats the 3rd City you showed with the large Bay??
ok i just saw what i think is north miami beach !! what theme is that? should i look in themes or individual houses etc. im in the shop right now hitting rewind on this vid .
Much respect shouting out the other channel build
Thx for the tipp
So I can cut the number of subscriptions by editing the buildings I want so that they all have the same few trees instead of every building requiring its own special list of trees? Great tip. And having just a few trees makes a more cohesive look too.
That miami Theme is freaking dope!

So one issue I have is organizing assets between projects. If you're working on different cities with different themes (say, east coast vs west coast?) do you just make multiple collections for each one? And can the collections be enabled or disabled en masse each time? I've gone through the "remove all workshop items" script a few times, but don't want to do that every time I switch to something else.

FPS really seems to tank if you have major traffic issues, especially when I hit the 80-100K population point. Learning how to utilize public transit, and planning for good road hierarchy has helped a lot.
@johnterpack3940
5 жыл бұрын
I started having trouble with mine at about 70k. I didn't even think about the traffic. I don't have any problem areas but I don't have a lot of public transport either. So maybe too many pedestrians and private vehicles are causing my problems. I'll work on some bus lines and see if that helps. I do have several metro lines running. But that obviously leaves people getting to and from the stations.
@bolland83
5 жыл бұрын
Buses seem to only add to my problem with traffic. Planning for dedicated pedestrian and bike paths that connect major areas, along with a metro or monorail network seems to work pretty well without disrupting traffic. For remote areas or a city that's spread out, a train line works pretty well also. I suspect the vehicle count is what's causing the slow down for me, I typically end up with a ton of industrial traffic. I've been experimenting with boosting education to try and utilize more offices instead of industrial areas, not sure yet if it's going to work. I may still end up with a ton of delivery vehicles clogging up the roads.
@mephInc
5 жыл бұрын
The game simulating a car or a person is same-same. The more going on, the harder it's going to be to process. As far as industrial/commercial traffic, it really helps to not have large blocks of either. Spread them out. It also helps cut down on the traffic if you limit the small (1x1) buildings from forming. Say you have a narrow strip of boxes to zone (1x?). Don't do it. You'll end up with a boatload of tiny buildings and each will generate just as much traffic as a 4x4. If (as you should) you separate your industry into small sections throughout your map, it'll also help to connect them with cargo train terminals. It'll cut back on trucks traveling all over the map and they'll instead just go to the nearest terminal and the goods will be shipped across the map.
@johnterpack3940
5 жыл бұрын
@@bolland83 try adding more cargo terminals if you haven't already. Industrial areas will send trains to each other and commercial areas since it is more efficient than trucks. It's fun to see trains pulling into a depot and see that they are from another depot nearby.
