It's city building focused simulation, not political and social simulation though, i'm not sure it would be good if we should accustom the game mechanism into that, but it would be interesting though if we had mod on that, and there's thing called Cities Skylines 2, i've seen a mixed zone buildings, you might be interested in that.

In City Skylines 2, only the political side and displacement are still present as a problem, because most people build stuff that are accesible by transit and walkable, zoning is fixed, just to name a few, people do assign history for the city to make sense

Politics is a great suggestion. It will definitely not be like having dental and tax updates in Minecraft. It will definitely not become political simulator 2024.

Hi, Im new to cities skylines and i was wondering, when building the avenue, you were able to select the individual building? I know that they are not included in vanilla, so are these some kind of unique buildings that come with the DLC or ist there a way to built individual buildings without zoning? Hope someone sees this since the video is so old haha

To be honest the criticisms of a lack of political involvement are pros for the majority of players. Who wants to get bogged down with bureaucracy? Still, the idea of there being a pre-existing city or brownfield site is a good one. Always feels a bit too divorced from reality. Perhaps the makers should take a leaf from Transport fever, with Brown fields can be redeveloped and connected to each other and existing ports and infrastructure. There should be more architectural.choices built-in, rather than modded designs you can just plonk down.

While I don't really want something as politically charged as "climate change" in my game, a lot of these points should really be added to CS2. I know they added some elements to some extent like car collisions and mixed zoning, they could really do with adding a lot of the rest of the elements discussed

Your videos are very cool, and the city itself is coming along nicely, watching this in 2024, but my advice would be to talk less. I’ve watched about four videos out of this series and I’ve noticed you talk from start to finish. Try giving your city and your work some room to breathe (in my opinion).

It´s a incredible work, considered the detail level achieved with your PC the specs. I use ULOD for downgrade the render distance for props and buildings, that way I can play the game with a pretty decent FPS rate, but thats all, I figure that recording the gameplay increase the ammount of resources consumed an it would be a nightmare for my PC, its a shame that this game have never been optimized, the same mistake ocurrs with CS2. I really would like to explore your savegame by myself but the link in the description doesnt work, seems like yor patron profile is hidden, I aprecciate if you share another link if possible.

What kind of a reasonable person would resist neighborhood renewal? Where I live, people buy apartments in run down neighborhoods with the sole hope it would be mowed down and they get a nice new apartment as a compensation. Neighborhood renewal is the absolutely best thing that can happen to an owner of an old apartment. I don't know what are you talking about.

I think you forget it's a video game and not a social groomer simulation. The moment you guilt players into doing things or push your opinionated agendas into games they just straight suck. People don't play games to be lectured, and they certainly don't BUY games to be lectured by the devs.

It's Cool to See how Many Things you Suggest in this Video were Added to Cities 2, even If Cities 2 is also an Unrealistic Sim in its Own Ways. A lot of this Stuff was even Added to Cities 1 Via DLC at Some Point, Like Pedestrian Districts in Plazas and Promenades. Cities and Cities 2 are Both Super Flawed Games, but I This All Really Shows how Colossal Do Genuinely Care about Making an Accurate Sim. Cities 2 is Genuinely Remarkable in its Accuracy, even if it Still has Major Flaws Like Requiring Sprawling Suburbs to Develop your City.

I'm like 10 minutes in, and i just want to explain to you that city building games are about infrastructure, not people. Politics are not, and should not be included. For the same reason that RTS and 4x games give you immortal god king control - it's the only playable POV. Otherwise the game is not about cities, or countries, anymore. Local politics simulator sounds crazy though, somebody needs to make it

The sad thing is, I think if C:S included all of these (communities that can be displaced, people with disabilities, history, etc.) people would be quick to start writing off the game as "leftist propaganda," for being too close to real life.

I so much disagree .. yes, you can buldoze a lot but just .... dont do it when you play it .. and also, Im trying to follow logical development from the mouth of the river , castle on the mountain, roads that respect the tarrain, natural progression of older vs. newer parts. You just need to play the game realistically as well. The game cannot do everything for you, it is very the limit of the game and it´s playability + you need to consider also beginner players who just want a playable game. It can be more realistic but you need to help it by playing it that way :) .... I even made a lore for my city and it developed part by part (in time - not timeless not soulless). You can do it :)
