you can get a welder, and grinder at harbor freight for about $100 and it'll do the job just fine.$500 worth of tools really isn't that much anyways

Just a suggestion, but if you make a grappling hook using rope it helps to tie knots into the rope every foot or so, this allows your hands to gain purchase on the rope when climbing, without relying solely on your grip strength.

You might consider using paracord instead of that rope. It'll be far nicer on your hands. In the past I've used fence spikes for that and just bent them in a bench vice to make the hooks. You know, the really huge nails you find at the hardware store? Just weld them like you did with the pry bars there and weld a half a link of chain on the end to attach the rope with. It's also extremely cheap as well as effective. They can be hardened to keep them from bending anymore so that's not a concern. You get better shape in the hook if you have an actual anvil to use but beggars can't be choosers right?

I've been thinking about this design for years.I've just been waiting for a welder.But I guess you got there before me.

Actually shinobi did use a grappling hooks as a primary tool, getting into trees, over walls, as a weapon, a very diverse tool.

manyraincloud. I play on a server, cause I have beaten the game 2 times (the one was co-op). The IP of the server is pedguin.com The port is 7777. Thats how I make new friends as I mentioned. I have made a very good friend from Latvia. We have our own clan on the server (the server does not have or work with clans, but me and my friend made it and make goals which we try to complete on the server.

Also if you can weld or find someone to, you can find rebar scraps. Heat and bend them. Viola. Cheaper than what he mistakingly calls crow bars, which are actually pry bars.

In The survival game Terraria, there are many grappling hooks such as the normal grapple hook, Gem hooks, ivy whip ect. But my favorite hook would have to be the dual hook. Since i have never played the 1.3 update my fav may change. (I just realized how much i am fan girling about this game).

Grappling hooks are more useful for pulling down wire obstacles, clearing mines and retrieving items from bodies that might be booby trapped and the like. There's a KZreadr from Ukraine that did a review on them.

the fix for making it less hand killing is make a longer rope and then tie a loop in the end u can stick your hand trough

Me and my friends in primary school got some random rope and some small sticks attached them to the rope and learned how to hook them onto branches and pull them down and climb up a tree
