As I am testing this recipe for my new book, I find that it comes out better when you add 1 cup of water (or nondairy milk) to the blender and 1 teaspoon vanilla powder)
THIS IS THE WAFFLE MAKER I USED:

EASY 3 INGREDIENT VEGAN WAFFLES (SUGAR-FREE AND GLUTEN-FREE)
INGREDIENTS;
2 LARGE VERY RIPE BANANA (OR 3 MEDIUM) about 2 cups or 12 ounces
1.5 CUPS GLUTEN-FREE OATS
1/3 CUP UNSWEETENED APPLESAUCE
Optional mix ins: your favorite spices like cinnamon and/or vanilla powder.
PREPARATION:
Preheat your waffle iron. In a high-powered blender blend all of he ingredients until smooth. Batter will be thick. Pour the batter into a non-stick preheated waffle maker and cook on high for 10 minutes or until done. Every waffle maker is different so there will be a learning curve. carefully remove the waffle and enjoy! Delicious plain or with fruit and California Balsamic vinegar.These can be frozen and the reheated or toasted.

I just purchased the waffle iron you recommended and made these today exactly to your recipe! Used NO oil and turned out perfectly and did not stick-yay! I threw a handful of blueberries and a small amount of applesauce and water into my vita mix and made blueberry syrup to go on top! So good!! Ty!!
Hello Chef AJ - thank you for this recipe! I sub'd the applesauce with pumpkin puree (what I had on hand) and added a tsp of pumpkin pie spice. So good 🍽💗!

So I made these because I already had the ingredients and they are really good I topped mine with bananas blueberries and tad bit of maple syrup and some non dairy dark chocolate morsels. I used very little chocolate but I’m easing into this eating style and if I don’t have a little chocolate I will drop the diet and binge . I wish I could post a picture because they were good . Thank you Chef Aj for these simple recipes.

Great idea adding a sweet potato. Perhaps sweet potatoes won’t stick if other ingredients are with it.
My next gadget is a waffle iron, I’m gonna check out thrift stores. Cant wait to try this out Chef AJ

I just made some (and canned) peach jam. I bought a very large box of home grown peaches (organically grown) which were so sweet--they didn't need any added sugar. I haven't had waffles in awhile, so thank you for reminding me of waffles for dinner. I will be having them tonight with some of my peach jam on top. :)

Would you consider some recipes that don’t involve blending? I got up to 22 st blending my calories. Now I’m 13 st lighter and don’t EVER blend and drink calories or blend and spoil fresh fruit. Oats blended makes oat flour and I’m flour free! Cheers Jane xx

Liquid vs solid calories is the difference concerning weight gain or loss and blending/kneeding/mashing. You can do this recipe mashing as well. It's just more work.
How much spices do you add?
So you can make pancakes with these too. I am still watching

Hey AJ, I am allergic to apples. What can I use to replace the apple sauce?

A rounded Tbsp of ground flax and 4 1/2 Tbsp warm water- mix together for a few minutes to let thicken.
I just recently found out I was allergic to Oats. It was greatly inflaming me. So what would be a good substitute.?? I used it every day and am lost without it.

Gluten free and am allergic to gluten and wheat ...which wheat has gluten also. But its the wheat. Was trying to stay compliant. Oats are wfpb. I thought about using chickpea flour.

What is the coconut that you squeezed over the banana? Is it actual coconut flavouring added to....? You did not mention a brand name.

It's a vinegar from California Balsamics--you can order it online: californiabalsamic.com
Unfortunately the Local Spicery doesn’t ship to Australia. I haven’t been able to find similar here.

No, I was just hopeful that I might be able to try some of those pumpkin pie spices etc. But I have googled pumpkin pie spice & I will try to make it myself. Thanks for the reply.

So what’s the nutritional info on these? Seems to me there would be Lots of carbs with Two whole bananas and the apple sauce. No way I’d be eating just one waffle.
