I work at a cafe in an airport, and although I never fly, some things I'd also recommend, and from a little past experience: 1. Wear shoes you can easily take on and off. Idk about Europe, but here in the US going thru security, you need to take them off, unless you are part of pre-check, which you can sign up for online I believe. 2. Bring your own empty water bottle! Since any liquids over 3oz aren't allowed through TSA, and since you want to stay hydrated, this way you don't have to pay like $3 for a water bottle afterwards. Just fill it up once you're through security. 4. Obviously don't bring skincare or makeup that is over the allowed fluid ounces either, otherwise it will get thrown out sadly. 5. Bring some sort of cardigan or jacket to wear bc it's always freezing in the airport, in any season. Layering is your friend. 6. Don't be like me and only find out during a 14 hr flight to know if you get air sickness; if you ever got car sick as a kid, take Dramamine before your flight takes off. We wouldn't want to ruin our flight (or clothing) puking, very unladylike lol. 7. Give yourself enough time. Not just to catch your flight, but if you plan to eat at the airport, make sure you have enough time to check your teeth and use the restroom before your flight takes off. Happy travels!!

Because a lot of people don't like being called out that they're not doing their absolute best to improve themselves physically, financially etc. As sad as it is, there are a lot of people who don't want the finer things in life, or some that Do want those things but they don't think they're worthy of them and for someone like Ana who is blunt and honest about how you are the reason you live the way you do whether it's good or bad, it rings truth with them and they're not ready to face it.

I want to add that on longer flights, you may become sleepy. The thought of a stranger watching me sleep is creepy. I bring my large dark sunglasses, and put them on when I feel sleepy. Hides my eyes perfectly. I also wear a nice large scarf that can serve as a coverup for my front, my arms and legs. I think being covered, especially when sleeping during the flight is important. Lastly, my motto is when traveling, “Keep it classy!”

wonderful video! true story, my husband who travels a lot for business told me one day "I'm going to start dressing up more when I travel because everytime I'm dressed up people just treat me differently. They even allow me extra pounds." so I started doing the same. The difference has been amazing. One day I was over the pounds and they allowed them, then the same day I left the passport on the counter and that nice girl came all the way to the plane to give it to me. Another day there was a huge delay and a lady that I had had a few words with saw me and invited me to wait with her at the bar. She did not let me pay for anything and that included diner and wine. Goodness, try these things they do work. I'm upping my travel game :)

In October I was returning from London to Portland, Oregon, and my bag was four pounds over the weight limit……because I didn’t have a good way to weigh it before I left. The woman at the counter let it go. Why? Idk, but I was polite, I laughed with her, we exchanged pleasantries and I was dressed nicely. Dressing nicely doesn’t need to involve lots of money, but it goes a long way if you add politeness with it. I was even given a better seat on the plane….with more leg room. Dress nicely, be polite and respectful…..it will get you further than being shabbily dressed and rude. Happy travels

@@g.970 my mother always insisted we dress nicely to go anywhere. She even wore a suit to go to the mall. Everywhere our family went, we were treated with the utmost respect. I remember touring Washington D.C. in the early 70’s wearing my dresses and Mary Jane’s. I was 8 years old. Every other tourist family had on shorts and tennis shoes. We even had photographers stop us to take pictures for magazines, telling us it was because our family was so well dressed. I’ve taken that advice throughout my life. My 90 year old mama still dresses nicely, even though she goes very few places.

@@northgeorgiamom8956 my family was the same. My Dad is 98 and still takes pride in his appearance. But somehow I ended up with a sister who dresses like a slob in sweats and XL T shirts with animals or sayings on them. She’s getting ready to go to Europe for her first time and I was trying to explain to her how to dress and act, but she says she doesn’t care. How we came out of the same womb I do not know. In high school I was voted best dressed. The local shoe store owner said his business suffered when I went away to college because when I’d buy shoes then the other girls wanted them too . Maybe I was an influencer before there was social media. No matter, I still carry what my parents taught me to this day. I just feel better about myself when I put in the effort to look nice.

If you don’t want to bring a jacket on to the plane, I suggest bring your shawl wrap scarf in your tote bag, during long haul the plane sometimes can get cold. Bring your wrap scarf during vacation can be so useful to cover your arms/ legs when you are visiting holy places such as cathedrals, churches , temples, mosques. You can even use it when you are feeling the chills by the beach, outdoor restaurants etc. Best thing about a wrap scarf is that it is less bulky and light weight.

I realize I’m finding this video a bit late but Ana does a really good job at highlighting the point that dressing for airport travel is not easy. It can be done in a classy way but there are a lot of points to consider. One point I would add is to consider safety, especially if you travel with things of value like expensive handbags or jewelry. Try not to wear things that scream, “take me!” to pick pockets. For example, jewelry with loose clasps or handbags that are easy to reach into. In addition to that, always maintain situational awareness. Never let your guard down no matter how often you travel or where.

I remember my trip to Majorca, where my sister used to live for a couple of years. One day, I decided to venture out on my own and wore very simple clothes, leggings, no jewelry, a tumi crossover bag. While I was enjoying a street dance, I noticed this aging don juan-like man perusing the public /tourists, trying to fish out the wealthy ones. His eyes stopped on me for a moment, then lost interest and moved on. Lol! That was so funny, considering I was, actually, a pretty well-off American. Lol. Good riddance! Lol.

Hi Anna I love your videos. I was a flight attendant for 27 years and I would definitely say that when you pack outfits tried to make it so all of the bottoms in all of the tops could be mixed and matched with each other. That way you get the maximum amount of variety for what you have packed and if something should happen to an item of your clothing you will still have an outfit that makes you look nice

There should only be one tip for how to dress for air travel. Dress in a way that will allow you to deal efficiently and effectively with an emergency situation. It may sound dramatic, but the first thing in your mind should always be safety. It doesn't matter how stylish you are if your outfit renders you useless in an emergency.

Theres two things ... 1. Most people wear their heaviest bulkiest items, to cut down on luggage space & fees. I suppose it's possible to look elegant in such a situation. 2. Years ago there was a magazine article on how to dress for airplane safety in case of fire or crash .. instead of for looks. For instance wear fabrics such as wool that dont burn quickly. Wear shoes that completely cover your feet to protect your feet and for running. I cant remember the rest of the suggestions .. i'll try to look it up.

What to wear when we have returned to the hotel after a busy day on the town and don't want to hide in the room, but rather sit in the lobby or somewhere comfortable and enjoy a cup of tea and a book. Devil’s advocate: I come from a family who has always been “old money” and my parents always told me to wear activewear especially gym shoes on a plane. In the event of an airplane emergency, it is the smartest thing to be prepared for that. Also, you want to be comfortable in long plane rides, so I think that athleisure works fine for that. I agree with you that trousers are nice but wearing high heels on a plane is looked down upon. I purchased your school of affluence program and am starting the courses today.

I agree that comfort is important on a plane, but I also have to agree that athleisure wear does not belong in none athletic activities and especially flying. There are so many cute non-athletic sneakers such as superga which would could be worn with jeans. Also, I often find that when I travel I have to wear shoes that would take up too much space such as block heel ankle boots rather than sneakers that are easier to pack. In the extremely unlikely event (less likely than a car accident) of an emergency athleisure would be better, yes, but would you apply that logic to other occasions?

I think it’s a personal choice. My MAIN priority in an airplane is to be comfy. I have a cute outfit ready for my post flight (normally when I arrive to the hotel I’ll change) to me I am my most comfortable wearing atheleisure. It’s a style now there’s a difference from wearing actually gym clothes vs cute styled “gym” clothes. I appreciate your view but I don’t think it’s appropriate to say “you can’t” or “you shouldn’t” just like you said about shoes, the whole outfit is a personal preference. About the people around me. I personally do not want to speak to them. I like to read a book or watch a movie. If I were to mingle and socialize yes I might consider dressing up a bit more. The reason why I do this, is because one day when I was stuck in an airport overnight and got up in Belgium 18 hours later, they neglected to tell everyone that they left the luggage outside in the rain. 18 hours later, all of my clothing stunk like mold! Every bit of it. I had to buy a new outfits! It was the worst disaster. So from now on I put all of my garments in plastic bags that are air tight, and I don’t carry anything that needs to be ironed. I just found out THE BEST thing to wear for long-haul flights- a wrap dress! You can sit comfortably however you try be comfortable, easy to change from when you arrive a day after to your destination. I wore it with high boots with zippers on the side, super helpful running to and from terminals and gates, gives a tight hug on your legs; just take them off if you need too, just make sure you have some decent long socks underneath as you cover with a blanket 😁. And yes...compression socks your doctors recommend.

My favorite travel bag has got to be Senreve’s Mini Maestra. It’s perfect to wear as a backpack or bag, while still being chic and not flashy. I tend to avoid branded bags when in a place like the airport as to not make myself a target of theft! Love the video, so informative!

Before the 1960s, everyone used to dress up for travel (airplane, train, etc). From the rich to the poor, and now people wear pajamas, sweatshirts, shorts that exposes everything and gym clothes. My late grandmother mentioned it several years ago. I usually travel in a casual chic dress or white jeans/blouse/loafers. I have a beautiful blush pink leather sneakers that look stylish. I have a spine injury from the military, so heels are extremely painful for me. Now I have great options. Great video!! Much needed advice. I love your channel!

Bags that actually close (totes, etc. with a zip!) are always a good idea for travel. When I send my bag through the xray or put under the seat or overhead bin things won't fall out and get lost. I'm also a fan of trousers! I actually don't think leggings are very comfortable. And I totally agree about workout wear anywhere but the gym. To me regular clothes feel better and they certainly look better. I like to bring a big "blanket scarf." I have different weights for different seasons. I'm flying to NY at Christmas (5 hour flight) and will probably use my cashmere stole. It's big enough to cover my body like a blanket and I'll be warm on the plane. I can use it throughout the trip as a wrap or scarf. Another favorite are these bras I found that are the shape of a typical sports bra, but without the tight support. Very soft and stretchy and no binding. The straps being wide don't dig into my shoulders. I love these for the plane. Feels like wearing nothing.

Because of the small risk of losing a bag during a tight transit, it is always a good idea to pack your valuable and cannot-live-without items into your carry on bag. Airtags are great to track your checked luggage, too- you drop one into your bag and when you get to your destination you can track your checked luggage as it makes its way to the baggage carrousel.

I mostly travel in the autumn /wintertime, and usually by train; I discovered that a good-fitting dress is my perfect way to dress while travelling. It's comfortable, not restricting in any way, looks chic and elegant. And I always wear heels, but not high heels; that's just a personal preference, because I don't like wearing flats at all (actually, same goes for trousers in general 🤔). I think everyone has to find her "travelling uniform", something that's comfortable, but still on the elegant side.

This is a great travel commentary and refreshing to hear someone else put thought and effort into what they wear when travelling. Personally I always wear a mid calf knit dress with booties and a warm cardigan. The dress is as comfortable as a t-shirt, looks chic and tidy and the benefit of a dress, over trousers, is when you use the plane's washroom unlike trousers it doesn't rest on the dirty floor. For bags I find my custom monogram LV speedy cross body w/ matching rolling carry on is light and sits well on top of my rolly.

Anna, I love it so much when you're talking about gym clothes outside of the gym LOL you are hilarious. The disgust is just comical to me in a good way. For flying, I always wear a maxi dress and cute flats, plus a blazer or cadi in case it gets chilly. For me it is just less stress to throw on a dress rather than figuring out comfort and matching. Dear Ana, I absolutely love your videos. I have been watching it over and over, taking all your precious advices step by step and enjoying it the most of all changes I have been doing throughout my life by now. The simple way of explaining and showing the examples made me think to myself more and check my everyday behaviour, lifestyle, clothes. Beside the exercises and healthy eating, I was not looking at other aspects of myself. When I started putting in practice all your advices, I have completely changed my every day life, the way I felt was amazing, completely recovered confidence and many other benefits came with it. Big thank you, Ana! Although your videos are so comprehensive, I will love to see a video about shoes. I am creative when comes to party shoes, elegant shoes but not very creative in finding shoes/sandals/heels for every day life or the covered up shoes matched with cocktail dresses. Is difficult for me to match the light shoes/sandals for an elegant look and not being too much. Also, what kind of shoes to match in winter time with a dress...You see? I am lost. I would like to thank you for this one more time and hope many other videos to come. Ioana

I learned the hard way to dress as comfortably and as classy as possible when traveling. All the above, Anna, from chic dress to flats, especially when you do not know whether you will have to walk miles between terminals. 😀. Wipes, hand sanitizer, ibuprofen or aspirin, favorite snacks (too expensive in airports and less than adequate on planes), etc are just a few of the things I take with me to be comfortable. Great discussion 👍

Every time I wear Boy London, people stop me at the airport and ask me where I got it. It’s happened to me in LA, NYC, Paris, Vancouver and Shanghai. I usually wear black suede loafers. Bags-wise, Montreal’s M0851 and Rudsak make fantastic sleek travel-friendly cross-body bags.
