How To Learn How To Sing! Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

Музыка

In this video, we'll talk about some ways to get started learning easy ways to start improving our singing voices!
How To Learn How To Sing!
While I have done other videos of a more technical nature on "How to learn to sing", I thought I would dig in a little deeper, before the technical aspects of singing, and get to the core of WHY people want to sing and the best way to help them find their unique voice on their singing journey.
This video explores that.
So if you've ever had a hankering to want to learn to sing, I think you'll appreciate and enjoy this video. :-)

If your car's starter fails, several men will appear within 3 minutes to help you push the car. No need to ask them. They come itself. However, if you ask those same men to sing to you, they will all disappear within 3 seconds......😆

My mom asked me when I was about 7yo what I wanted to be when I grow up? I told her I wanted to be a singer. She had me sing to her, and she laughed at me. Not nice I know. I was embarrassed, and made me not want to sing around anyone. Later when I was 20yo I bought my first guitar and would eventually learn the song. I would start to learn to sing the lyrics while playing the guitar. I bought a cassette player alot like you mentioned. I played and sang "Every Rose Has It's Thorn." I just figured if I was doing bad I would have them join in to make it fun. No one joined in, and they all looked at me, and said that I did the song great. I still didn't have all the techniques to expand my range. I found yor channel, and started watching your video's so I purchase your course. I got your course right before I went into surgery for my broken neck. I am now healed up as good as I'm going to get. I have practiced with your course some, but privacy with kids screaming inthe house is hard to record. I am now almost done building my studio / workshop, so I can set up better, and have a place less noisy. Great content as always now I don't have excuses, and it's all on me.

I first started devouring this channel's basic content a few days ago. I was home sick for a week with terrible case of RSV, going bored out of my mind. I thought that I couldn't make certain notes until I watched Ken's video on using your diaphragm to press enough air through the vocal cords. I have the benefit of playing a sport every season for a couple decades, so I can control my tension and breath. Boy I felt silly that I didn't know there was a breathing technique to singing, it makes all the difference. Today is the first day since I stumbled into this world again that I feel like I can do more than a vocal exercise. I've just been leaking or stuffed, up buzzing my lips for a couple hours a day. Then Tamplin drops this perfect video for my situation. Thank you again Ken.

This video is GREAT! I'm someone who has a passion to learn (granted I'm much more interested in extreme metal and voice over work) but this would also help in building up my singing (which helps the other things too) and starting my own journey of learning once I have my little studio space made! Being self conscious is definitely what's held me back but soon I'll have my own space to be able to sing, growl, and make all the fun sounds I can make with my voice in privacy without bothering anyone or my neighbors (or my mom😅)

Really appreciate. I sing in church. Used 2 sing every Sunday. Long story short, was displaced due 2 a merger. Found another church, but still suffer from tremendous stage fright at times. My voice carries the remnants of Gospel, even though I sing in a Catholic church. Like your videos, I continue 2 learn & develop. Just wish I could develop past the stage fright.

I think an important attribute for a singer is self-confidence. Personally, I don't really like the sound of my voice either, but since I've been hosting my own radio show, I've gotten more and more used to hearing myself without immediately turning it off. I've always liked singing, but I wouldn't call myself a singer, but a couple of singers I've dealt with have actually told me that I sound pretty good. So I think a subjective view can differ from other people's perspective.

I had similar issues when I started music for the first time in my life a few years ago. I also had no range or control at all. Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash was a song I would constantly use as a warm up and practice and eventually I would raise the key of the song as I got better with control

I'm just in the process of learning how to record my vocals over a backing track, so it was good that this motivational video showed up. My first recording was not pretty I can say. Pitch was good, but did not like the tone as I went down to pure chest voice. I think there are 3 steps on how I perceive the voice. First without any gear, 2nd with microphone, headphones and direct monitoring. Now finally recorded with a track. All these 3 steps have to be learned from the beginning it seems. At least for me. Maybe some genius can practise alone for a few months and walk directly into a recording studio and sound excellent on the first take. I apparently cannot. There are always some disappointments. I still close down the consonants too hard. It doesn't affect the pitch but it destroys the tone. I sound too much like I'm speaking loudly (even up to E4-F4) and when I close a consonant down hard the sound also travels towards a frontal position which I don't like. Plus I have the Scandinavian accent ee sound which is so horrible. I must learn to gravitate towards eh to save the day. When I go up around the G4 then there is not the same amount of weight and then I also don't overenunciate. I hope I can get through this point, but feels like the KTVA program gives a good toolbox to mitigate these problems. I am never worried about reaching notes and I know I rarely miss because I have a frequency metre window on the screen where I read the lyrics. So I can go back and watch a whole song as a graph. The ah vowel sounds great in songs. I practised that a lot since it was said it grows the voice the best. Over and out.

To make things short. 1. Learn the basics. Boot's and cat's boot's and cats... (what is a rythm?) How do I stand on a skateboard, how I do handstand. And also how I hold a guitar. (I don't care what you learn. So that's for everything.) 2. Add a simple extra. Like how do I hum over my beatboxing, how do I start my skateboard. What can I do with the handstand... 3. Steal some techniques here and there. Oh and perfect them. (You know what bruce lee said about learning kicks. Keep that in mind.) Oh. And take breaks. Because muscles getting swollen, tired some joints will get stiff. Which is actually normal if you do something the first time. And the last thing be pasioned. (I needed two months for only one special vocal technique. And I'm just able to hum with it. Singing in it is do much harder.)

Great tips Ken ! took me back to your BEG tutorials 5 yrs ago and the PING is KING, and VOWEL MODS really stand out that kicked MY progress in HIGH gear.😎 TOO MUCH effort, causing sore throat, cramping neck/throat muscles result in poor use of vowels, but once I stopped treating A-E-I-O-U all the same, my pwr increased, and the pain magically stopped occurring. If your new here, BELIEVE EVERYTHING Ken says in ALL tutorials. You'll likely question some of his R brained methodology, and LOL occasionally 😄but you'll be progressing sub-conciously then one day, what ya DIDNT "get" a month ago, will suddenly coinside with all other techniques.I woulda NEVER EVER been able to sing 4 hrs a night (bout 60 tunes), by myself at 62, if I hadnt let Ken's tutorials "work me". Purchasing the whole course would no doubt be MUCH better, with FASTER progress and well worth the investment😎
