How to: Knit Through the Back Loop (ktbl) & Purl Through the Back Loop (ptbl) | Knitting Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This quick lesson demonstrates knitting & purling through the back loop (tbl), which is where you take the right-hand needle into the back of the stitch rather than the front - and this creates a twisted stitch. A twisted stitch will be tighter and more compact than a regular (untwisted) stitch.
In the thumbnail, the first few ridges of garter stitch are untwisted; the next few are twisted. It clearly shows the difference in appearance.
I hope you find this useful :)
Chunky yarn, 6 mm needles.
