OMGoodness! I watched this video last night. I have used black eyeliner on both my top and bottom for ages. Also black mascara. I’m blonde. Today, I used brown liner like you did in the video and brown mascara. Smidge of foundation on my cheeks (rosacea), and bronzer. What a huge huge huge difference. I actually thought I looked younger and fresher! I can’t thank you enough.
Oh dear, that was the most HELPFUL video I have ever seen and trust me I have seen hundreds 😂 I am 52 and am guilty of all the "wrong" ways. Tomorrow I will take this approach. So many benefits! Can you do the same for eyeshadow? I appreciate you so much ☺️💜

I agree with you, Hope. I gave up on mascara about 50 years ago as my skin was mega oily and seems like within minutes it was under my eyes. Now that I'm a zillion years old, I did try a tubing mascara, and no smudging. I rarely leave the house though so ? It came about 50 years too late for me but if I need it occasionally, I have it now.

The quality of make up now is practically stage make up and or drag make up. It is as shocking to look at up close because it's meant to be seen on camera. Young girls straight out the gate are using stage and drag techniques including fillers, shots and surgery on barely developed features. Imho when this phase blows over in our culture we will be left with some very interesting faces to look at as they age. Interesting times.

The best advise for older skin. I am 71 and you are spot on ,thank you
Thank you thank you for saying all of this out loud. I’ve been trying to explain this to people for years. You explained it beautifully!!!
70 year old grandma here and you just made my life sooooo much easier. Less is more of course. You are gorgeous!
I loved this! I am entering my 30’s, just had two kids in two years my body and face have changed SO much in what feels like over night that I have noticed that my make up techniques that used to work for me before needs to change because they don’t work for me anymore, thank you!
Love love love to hear how you explain it all “in what world?!” 😂 will go back to watch everything you’ve put out there …such a credible source . Thank you
I love watching make up tutorial but this video is the only one l subscribed because her English is so clear and she is so professional. Being Filipina is hard to understand different accents but Ali Andreea talks clearly that’s make me understand every details
What a refreshing, and seriously realistic approach! I love that you break down the IRL v. photo video differences. Hard to capture, but way to make the point. Thank you
I just turned 74 and I have learned over the years that less is more. Your videos are wonderful because you understand how aging too much makeup, too much eye liner etc. all of it is. I don't have a lot of wrinkles thanks to heredity and decent skin care but I know I don't look my age unless I use way too much make up. I truly appreciate you!
By far my favourite make-up video. Her natural tone and honesty, absolutely loved this. Spot on with the advice and natural look.
Your videos have helped me learn how to apply makeup in your late 40's. You are very nurturing, relatable, and I've gotten back to where I love wearing makeup again. Thank you! 💌
This is possibly the best video I’ve seen in my life. I feel like intuitively I knew this stuff and felt it on myself but still ignored my intuition and continued making mistakes. These small changes are a world of difference!!
Ali, you're an absolute treasure! Your knowledge and insights are only surpassed by your fun and wicked sense of humor. Your sensitivity to those of all ages is highly commendable. You're a shining star in the universe!
I have been making some of these mistakes for a while. No wonder my husband says he likes my natural skin better! This is very helpful! Thank you!
I’m 31, over the last couple years I’ve noticed my makeup doesn’t look how it used to after applying it. I’ve been putting off learning a new strategize. This morning, however, I’ve been eager to find a new way to apply and look for some tips. I’ve watched about 5 videos so far and this one is the best I’ve come across so far. Thanks for the help! 😊
What a contrast from each sides of your makeup demo! So much softer on your right side and really accentuates your features in a subtler way! Love it! Thanks for your very good advice!
I love how this is so feminine too. Full of natural curves instead of the sharpness of drag makeup or current trends. It is nice to see someone teaching good basic techniques instead of always looking like you belong on stage.

Thank you for your sweet honest way of presenting this info. Sooooo helpful!
I'm 62 and refused to give up my black eye liner....until I saw this video. I will be replacing it. The contrasting sides were very helpful as well. Thank you!
This was probably the most helpful video I have ever seen. It was so so amazing. Thank you Andrea for making this. I am 53 and am going to try not to contour and do the cream bronze trick. So helpful to know that every single make up tip is not for every single person. I would love to k is your tips for eye shadow as many others have commented. ♥️😘
At the end of my thirties, I'm just learning how to apply makeup now. It can be overwhelming, watching all those videos, with all these beautiful young girls with styles I could never pull off, and 35 products I have no idea how to use but are certainly expensive xD With your video I'm kindof relieved I can skip right to the "less is better" minimalist part now xD Also, your videos are very accessible, and reassuring somehow. Aging is normal :) ty

I’m now 44 … and. I couldn’t agree more with the” less is more” tactic … I have couple bottles of foundation and I use them only in little areas around my eyes and my eyelids and a couple of the little areas throughout my face… I never could understand the “full-faced” foundation trends that women have turned towards in the past decades.. whenever I’ve attempted to try that look in the past, it always would age me … I could not even imagine wearing a thick layer like that every day… I love this video I was totally intrigued by every word thank you so much…

Why do women care about looking young so much? Looking your age is so class. And not catering to the leery eye of men. We are more than that women.

You can never go wrong with some suncreen as your base and a beautiful mineral powder by bareMinerals. It’s about $50 in Australia but I’m not quite sure how much is overseas in Sephora. It comes in original which is a nice dewy finish or it comes in a matte version. I feel that mature women look way better with a dewy finish but it’s up to you. I feel it’s very important to have that base layer underneath and it will last you all day all night so make sure that your sunscreen is not mattifying and at night otherwise use a dewy moisturizer. It works better than primer and the second that you put your base on whether that be sunscreen or moisturizer get ready to buff the foundation on and it will use the moisture in your face product to make it stick to all skin types for hours. Following this method will have the foundation last you like 6-12 months and have you glowing because you can never overdo it - it’s foolproof
Thank you for doing this video, lovely one!😘😊. As a veteran makeup artist of 29 years, I have seen many older, aging women wearing & applying their makeup the same way as they did in their more youthful years. It certainly can age one's face. I have had clients, that have been open to changing and seeing what I have suggested in updating their look. I have seen not only black eyeliner being too harsh, but also too dark of a lipstick and not much blush. As we age and go through menopause we lose color in our face and look faded, washed out. Our hair loses pigment/color & texture as well. Some may dye their hair too dark as it can look too harsh. It's all about balance. Aging doesn't have to be a time of giving up and throwing in the towel, thinking you can't still look & feel beautiful. I encourage all women of any age to know they can still feel & look beautiful! I accept that I am getting older, I will be turning 50 years old soon. I wish to look & feel graceful/refined/elegant in my aging process. My biggest and loudest message to everyone is take very good care of your skin!! Your skincare is the very foundation, that helps your makeup to look its very best. I love helping all women, especially my older clients. Aging doesn't have to be depressing or sad. We have learned from our mistakes in life, matured, and most of all gained some wisdom in helping others younger than ourselves to a better place. Makeup is a work of art, a portrait, painting in detailing one's most flattering features. Have a blessed day everyone!!!🙂💗
Well I will be purging all my BLACK eyeliner and medium brown eyebrow liners/creams and pull out my clear eyebrow gel I've never used😵 I was in a trance watching and listening to this beauty queen👸 Thank you from a almost middle age woman.❤
Thank you for doing this video! I am 42 and just starting to really see differences in how I need to change certain things in my makeup routine! I have rosacea so I can’t just use concealer in certain spots so would love to see another video with more items like BB/CC creams and foundation, color correction, and any other products for those of us with discoloration/hyperpigmentation issues!
Personally, I like these videos and wish more people would do them. Each creator is going to have their own take and tips, the more tips the better I say! Thank you for this video, I am getting older and am realizing that I just need to stop trying to recapture my youth and use cosmetics to enhance what I have, not cover it all up.
I’m 65, and how I needed to see this! I have dark brown hair and never even thought to use brown around eyes. What a difference. Thank you for the tutorial and naming the products you used.
super helpful and informative tutorial!! I am approaching 58 and I feel like this helped confirm my usage of more nuteral and earth tones, less concealer, and not using black eye liner! Thank you thank you. You are gorgeous!
I’m an “older” woman (57) and I so appreciate your honesty!!! 🙏🏼 My skin is pretty good but I have fine lines and more makeup just looks bad. Thank you!
You always give the best advice on makeup. I’m in my 70’s and I learn something new all the time from you.
Best make-up video EVER. I am about to turn 65, I let my hair go natural, I did get lucky and it went a lovely, almost pure white. I have brown eyes and in my youth, deep skin tones. However, with the white hair and softer skin tones I no longer thought I could wear brown around my eyes. Mistake, I watched this video and thought I'd try. I can not believe the difference, I followed the video step-by-step and I have never felt more natural, age appropriate, yet lovely. Thank you Ali, I love your personality and for this 65 year old, you bought back a self-like I had forgotten.
Finally! Someone who came right out and said what I’ve always thought. Thank you!
I just turned 31. I haven’t worn makeup in 2/3 years. I spent $200 on make up yesterday to try to get back in to it. I been watching YT videos this past week on “how to do this or that” and I must say… the way you did it “wrong” is exactly how I apply makeup before and how I been show to this past week. And I feel like I look so much older when I wore make up and that’s why I stopped wearing it. This video is a absolute game changer and you look absolutely stunning!! This is the video I needed to see and wish I saw it sooner!!! Thank you so much for this valuable lesson! 🤍

As a guy, who grew up with beautiful sisters and a beautiful mom, in my opinion makeup should be applied so it doesn't look like you are wearing makeup. It should accentuate your own beauty, and yes if needed cover some minor flaws. Although I did see a great video on a make up artist who helped people who had a lot of issues - like scarring and disfiguration, and with her help, the people looked so much better with make up to hide what had happened to their faces. So make up can work miracles, but I think mostly it's a case of less is more.
You are an amazing teacher! You're helping so many women look their best and doing so in such a kind way that isn't insulting to anyone, but demonstrating so it's clear to see. ❤️
This is great . Many people don’t know this , they see Kim and trend. But I think you have to wear less is best and show your own natural beauty. Everyone woman has her own uniqueness . You are wonderful. Also age appropriate too . I been doing this for many years . I finally found someone that I can relate too. ❤️

Loved this. I’ve been a fan for a few years now. Also I’m 64. So helpful! I remember when you did your mom’s makeup. I would encourage you to consider doing a half and half on her to include blush and face powder and hair. Xxoo
So great to see a professional MUA giving tips for real life! Thank you!
LOVED THIS!!! I'm so simple with make up and this was very eye-opening! I literally wear eye liner and mascara - BLACK EYE LINER! Now I need Arbonne to bring back the colours!! Or find another clean liner....your comments of "No" throughout were hilarious! Thank you! Fantastic!
Thank you for being real and genuine ❤️ refreshing! And your super likeable too!
I ended up with a black eyeliner by mistake.... so I used it. My husband looked at me and immediately said that my makeup looked a bit harsh. Of course he was kind about it (he never even notices 99% of the time.) So you are absolutely correct about using brown eyeliner and mascara!! Also, I have stopped using bronzer on my cheek area as well, only on my forehead because I have a large one and it needs some color! Thank you for these suggestions, they are very helpful!!🥰
I love your stuff, so elegant and classy! Im literally sitting here telling my friend about your Dior look (I actually went to Sephora today and bought the liquid lipstick), but i wanted to show her your amazing eye look, and voila, your video was just posted!! With love from Toronto xox

I may only be 23 but these anti aging tricks have really leveled up my game! I LOVE the way these tips have softened up my look! You’re 100% right about the sharper lines make the look heavier and the person unapproachable. Thank you for the tips!
Omg I love you! Thank you!! I. 43 with 4 kids. My oldest, 14, always says I look like an adolescent. I love it! Your Tips are the best!!! Amazing♥️
Thank you for showing what works in REAL life! I'm not a selfie person, so I don't pay too much attention to how my make up works in photos, but there are a lot of tips (especially with concealer) that look too heavy in person.
"More sweetness to it." THAT'S PERFECT, YES!! Thank you, this is amazing!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you love! I just hit 38 and have been trying more natural makeup looks for work. 😊
Yes!!!! No frosty lipsticks, no hard black eye liner. Less is more! ❤Great video!
Love this!! Like you said: these are tips for how to look good in person, I think we see too many makeup tutorials that look great on camera / Instagram. But not in real life. It’s evening time now, but cannot wait to do my makeup tomorrow and apply some of the new tips 😅
Hi Andrea, I love this video. It's 2024 and I am so guilty of all the make up mistakes you mentioned. Thank you so much for this. I am with you less is more 😊
Wow, thank you so much for this tutorial! I can see the lifting difference between the 2 sides. I have been making makeup mistakes for my age, and now I understand what they are!
One of the best and most helpful KZread videos I have ever gotten for a makeup tutorial the fact that you can actually see a big difference is a super big deal I been looking for a video like this and I finally found the best makeup video out there thank you so much this video means a lot to me! 💛
Finally someone who agrees with me when it comes to the eyebrows..I thought I was the only one. Thank you so much for the tips! I am a beginner and now I know what I did wrong with my concealer🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Enjoy your day🌷🌷
It's not only the great advice that I like in your videos, I love your personality ❤️ thx
I appreciate this video. It’s more realistic and these tips also save time cause fixing a flawless look throughout the day can be consuming .
I really like the way you introduce this video. And you're right, there's nothing wrong with ageing. Thank you for reinforcing that message!

@@tinamarie2121 Hey! Did you ever wear auburn or burgundy mascara? This is really dating me, but I wore MaxFactor auburn when I was in high school. Then L'oreal had some, and now there may be many more. It never really gave me the natural look I was going for lol.
OMG, I agree on everything especially on the frosted/metallic lipsticks! The same applies to nail polish. I’ve been collecting nail polish for years and realized a few years ago that my metallic/glitter nail polish makes my hands look older, so now I only use creams and sheer on my hands and my metallics on my toes. Thanks for another amazing video. Much love from Texas USA! 🤠
