Vocal production is fundamental for a good topline, and there are many different approaches one can take. Today we are looking at the easiest of them all - vocal doubles. Doubling a lead vocal may sound simple, and it is, however, the details are key here.
We explore all the different ways one can double a vocal. We discuss doubling rap and melodic lines, the importance of vocal delivery, and the difference between doubling everything and doubling only parts of the lead. We also explore the very basics of vocal editing - pitch correction and time alignment. While only looking at doubles in this episode, all of these aspects would be vital in every part of this series, so pay close attention!
