    For future installations, do try a cardboard mock-up first, use the mock-up as if it’s the acrylic. This way, you can do many refinements before the confirmed design.

    When door is closed, causes air "starvation" which is the main reason for higher noise decibel as well as less air change. Fan lifespan will be shorten.

    You can chat with them via shopee to see if they can drill the rivet holes for you, they should be able to do it. The custom-cut acrylic cost me $32 excluding shipping and the plain 50cmx60cm that I cut myself cost only $8 excluding shipping.

    One of the worries i have in installing the fan in a bathroom with single window is the stagnant air when the fan is not turned on for quite awhile e.g on vacation. This is because the only outlet now is the door. So if we dont open the door often / dont use the fan, it may actually cause mould. Is it an issue for you?

  • @kakilai

    hahaha what a great problem you have, unfortunately I don't travel long enough to have that issue. But even if I do travel for extended periods, it can't be avoided anyway since i'll be closing all the windows in the house

    Hi, can I check, can I use an electric screwdriver for this with screws instead of rivets? As my husband insists it's possible with screws

  • @kakilai

    @kakilai

    6 ай бұрын

    Yes it’s possible, but to prevent the acrylic from cracking, you should predrill the holes on the acrylic and make sure that the screw thread can pass through the acrylic freely. I have tried turning screws into acrylic in my other router video and the acrylic can crack very easily due to its brittle nature

  • @kakilai

    @kakilai

    2 ай бұрын

    Had it for 2.5 years now, it’s not as strong as it was first installed but it’s still working fine and still removes moisture quickly. Cooking grease do clog up the motor overtime as the bathroom that I had this fan installed was connected to the kitchen, but after a quick service, cleaning and oiling the motor, it can functioned at 80% of brand new condition.

    Hello! Can I check if the acrylic panel can hold the weight of the fan? Is there any other secure done to the fan onto the acrylic panel?

  • @kakilai

    @kakilai

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi! We initially planned to use a 5mm sheet but couldn’t find one that was reasonably priced. The one on this video is 3mm, it’s actually sturdy enough and I wouldn’t recommend going for 2mm/1mm. There is no other fasters used to secure the fan to the acrylic, it is just seating on it. You can use silicon to “glue” it to the acrylic but that means you wouldn’t be able to take it out to do regular cleaning and maintenance. This gets dusty quite fast!

    That is a riveter! Rivets are used for this project because I am not sure of the thickness of the aluminium window frame. If it’s too thin and screws are used for the installation , the screw thread may not being strong enough to hold the weight of the acrylic and the fan
