How to Install the Brake on Impala Inline Skates
Here’s how to install the brake on your groovy Impala rollerblades! There’s a lot of brake installation videos out there, but not any specifically for Impala brand skates. To summarize:
1) hold the skate firmly between your legs
2) using both the Allen wrench and skate tool, unscrew the axel/bolt on the rear wheel AT THE SAME TIME. The brake can be installed on the left or right skate. Take the wheel out.
3) align the brake with the frame and pop the wheel back in
4) screw in the longer axel and bolt (included with your rollerblades)
5) make sure everything is tightened and blade away!
Cheers🍻

I was 100% lost since the manual doesn’t explain those little nudges you explained so well, so thank you SO MUCH for this! By the way, I got the same exact color as yours ♥️
This was BEYOND helpful--I was ready to give up until I found your video and now my brake is on! Still took some patience, but I'm ready to ride now :)
Thank you!! This saved my life (literally haha)
Thankyou for the help!! I wasnt putting on the brakes, I was removing them because I wanted to step up a bit because i wanted to learn some tricks but the brakes were preventing me from doing so. The instruction manual and other youtube videos wernt that helpful but this video was amazing!!
Thank you so much for this video. I thought I was missing a brake lol.
SO HELPFUL!!!! Thank you for saving me from many slips and falls! ❤❤
I hate reading instructions. Thanks for doing this. Took me five minutes thanks to you.

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I never would have figured it out otherwise.
Thank you! This video was a great help as my skates were bought used and didn't come with a manual. 😊
Omg I am so glad I found your video because my mom would let me ride my skates if they didn’t have breaks so thank you
Super helpful explanation, thank you! I installed the breaks without any issue!
Thank you so much. I was so close to taking these babies back, but I did it, thanks to this video!!
Well it now makes sense why I almost died wearing them with no breaks 😅
Thank you!!! This was so helpful!
So incredibly helpful!!!
Thank you! This helped me out A LOT

Thank you for making this video!!
Thank you. Just ordered some and if it wasn’t for this video I most likely wouldn’t have known how to install the stopper.
Omg tysm! I was so confused on how to make them work this helped me out a bunch
so helpful thank you for this!!
Thank you, this really helped me!!
Omg so helpful thank you!
thank you! so helpful!
Thanks, was so clear. Maybe dumb question, but is it possible to change the brake pad into something else? a different shape stopper or something?
havent bought it yet but i find it very strange they dont come preinstalled with the brake tbh. is this normal for rollerblades i wonder. i would imagine beginners use brakes, and impala seems like a new trendy company geared towards beginners. also, an experienced skater would know how to easily uninstall the brakes, compared to a lost beginner LOL.

From what I can tell breaks on inlines isn’t common and is usually only used by beginners and is something people take off as soon as they’re more stable. I don’t think most come with one installed even ones designed for beginners but will include one, I think it’s also a good way for beginners to familiarise themselves with adjusting the skates early on. Some beginners won’t even put the brake on and just learn how to stop without it like majority of inline skaters do
Thanks girl, just got my impalas and couldn’t figure out how to put on the brake hahahaha
Do you know where I can buy the brake? I have looked everywhere for it. My daughter has worn hers out and is so sad that we cannot find a new brake.
Thank you sooo much!
I'm waiting for mine are the breaks in or I have to buy them?
Thanks
What protective pads do you use?
How do I find a backstop to buy on its own?
Thanks you so much!!
Thanks so much!
thankssss
Thank you!!

I actually did figure this out! My neurodivergent brain needs EXACT specific instructions and in case anyone else is in the same boat as me... If you're wondering which skate, the standard is the right but you can do it on either side, whatever is comfortable. As for which direction to turn it, righty tighty applies here. Most importantly, you need to use the LONGER AXLE for the brake. This is not mentioned in the vid bc it's probably obvious to neurotypicals. Someone needs to make a neurodivergent tutorials channel lol.
Did the blades comes with the break? Or did you have to buy it separately?

The brake looks longer than the wheels . How does it not drag on the ground?

@@wolfiegrl5716 I’m not sure if you’ve solved it but there’s two slots you can put the break in. One is dragging and one is slanted. Figured that out pretty quick cuz mine were dragging too. Take em apart and you’ll see
I can’t get my wheel off :(
Thank you soooo much for this. Very helpful with my installation of it.

I was having the exact same issue, so I used 2 allen wrenches (already had a few laying around) instead of the tool the skates come with. Twist in opposite directions - feels like you're doing it wrong at first but they'll come loose pretty quickly!
