I actually just received the pink ones in the mail today! I was an active rollerblader as a child and it felt as if I was picking up where I left off as a child! They were kinda slow but I’m still breaking them in and they allowed me to move at a comfortable speed!

This was a great review! I’m getting back into skating for the first time in about 15 years and bought a pair of these after seeing your review!! They arrived today and I’m really thrilled, they are sturdy and they feel “safe” - hopefully once I get back into it, I can upgrade to something that allows a little more speed and flexibility, but I’m really happy with my purchase!!

They are 70mm AND plus they are bery soft for that size. 80a is usually for at least a 80/88mm like my old skate. So for sure they feel slow. BUT you can actually insert a 76mm in the impala skates!(if the size is over 40EU) so I think you could buy those apart. Or at least buy a thougher pair of wheels cause if you stat doing some intermediate trcks they ruin very fast

My friend & I are learning to skate again & thanks to your tutorials we're learning a lot & gaining confidence with proper technique. What's also cool is that we're kiwi too! It's been a bit hard to find places that other skaters recommend because they're overseas. So are there skating stores in NZ that you could recommend? Especially for protective gear & inline skates that are suitable for beginners. Thanks so much & keep going with the videos :)

Great video! I roller bladed and ice skated a TON as a kid and I'm looking to get a pair to bum around in. Based on your review I know the speed is going to be a issue (I'm hoping to keep pace with a bike). I'm not looking to do tricks or anything but I don't wan to be dragging ass. I did some reading on the ceramic bearings you recommended and with that upgrade Im looking at spending about $300. Do you think I would be better off just buying a better pair of skates? I really love this pair but I don't want to waste money trying to make these something they are not lol.

Hi! Thank you for doing this review! 😃 I am trying to learn how to skate but I don’t know anything about skates 😅 I was looking at this ones because they are cute, but I feel like that’s the wrong reason to buy them, with your review I feel like they might be for me (?) but is it bad that the bottom it’s plastic? I will fall for sure and it looks like it might break or something, because yours look a little scratched when you showed them (but again, I know nothing about skates haha). Is there any other skate you could recommend for a beginner?

Do these skates live up? If a better alternative that skaters recommend is going to cost me and extra couple hundred, then I'd rather get these. I feel like I'm honestly looking for a middle ground set of being less beginner like these with more mobility and faster, but not professional enough for them to be a challenge to learn (I'm an intermediate skater) and not cost me an arm and a leg?

  • @BrandonDrummond

Hey. If you’re good at ice skating you should pick up inline very quickly. If you really like these skates I’d go for. Just changing the wheels and bearings should improve their speed a lot if you find them too slow. No other skate looks as cool as these so they’re a great choice.

Hey. I just check mine out and saw the weird spacer they have in them. That is not normal for any other inline skates. Those spacers are terrible. You can get the bearings out by pushing the spacer as far as I know. But it is very hard to do. I would recommend just getting new bearings. Most inline skates spacers don't go the whole way through. I hope you manage to get them out!

You could get new wheels and bearings but the skate itself is most of the problem. Keep in mind they arn't terribly slow, they're just slower than more advanced skates. At a beginner level you probably won't even notice. These are a great first skate. Welcome to rollerblading!

@ they’re type 84a wheels which means they are great indoors and outdoors.over cracks they are fine and on bumps too. But if the surface is really bumpy it will feel a bit rough when skating. I’ve skated on some really bumpy surfaces and it hasn’t been too bad. And ofc it’s just getting used to the surface since after awhile it felt quite normal. Hope that helps!

Emilia Oim there are a lot of great options for urban skating. How much are you looking to spend? Id recommend looking through inline warehouse’s urban skate section and researching skates that you think look cool. If you are an absolute beginner, id say don’t get tempted to get a 3x110, and stick to 4x80 wheels. Some good options off the top of my head are seba frx, micro mt plus, powerslide imperial one, or rollerblade cruiser. There are a lot so to recommend one id need your budget
