    Another solution for those living in an apartment OR don’t want to drill in ceiling is using a retractable/ expandable shower rod that you could put between a doorway or 2 walls. Just expand the rod at the height you want, then attach a hook over it. Last option would be a heavy duty suction cup that mounts to a clean flat surface, this is what they use to lift heavy windshields off cars. Install to ceiling (if possible based on surface type) and they hang hook on. Another way would be to get a stick of wood, and duct tape it to the ceiling. Something with decent thickness, but just enough to take the tension. About two feet should give you enough to tape to the ceiling with it holding tight, but three feet might work better. That's what I'm going to try at least. From someone in an apartment. P.S. Thanks for thinking about that in the first place.

    Bro that is the smartest suggestion I've ever read. I live in Miami and I have my double-end bag hanged to an outdoor basketball rim. It rains a lot out here and I needed an indoor solution without pissing off my father if the screw eyes mess up the ceiling. DEFINITELY buying this tomorrow. Bro, you do not how many times you've helped me and all the people on this channel. Love your reviews and I love how I can go into your past videos and read a hidden gym of a comment like this.

    It looks like it works out nice for you,plus since your fast and have the double end hitting technique down nice,which i do too but i just prefer bottom side bunjee non rubber and topside rope because it has a wider band with when hit or should i say more rebound width maybe while the rubber bungee is little more stiff even if you loosen tension and make it longer,my question is do you like the other way as well? I like it cause it reaches back more on the rebound past your head more than rubber i noticed wich is nicer for me to use more practice slipping

    Hey man awesome vids... from the bay as well. Props bro for repping the teams haha. I just wanted to ask if there was any other way to hang a speed bag besides drilling the set into the wall. I’ve seen the EZspeedbag, but not necessarily sure about it. Any opinions??? Looking for other recommendations/ideas. Thanks. Much appreciated!

  • @csquaredboxing

    @csquaredboxing

    Thanks man appreciate it always gotta represent my home. For a speed bag unfortunately the only way is to drill (or use the suction ez speed bag) because the platform needs to be really stable and not vibrate/ flex at higher speeds/ tempo. Also the platform the bag bounces off needs to be thicker and a good weight so it absorbs the vibration better. Otherwise you’ll have a speed bag that doesn’t move smoothly and vibrates all over the place

Don't know if I should put the double end bag on the rail though since I won't be able to slide it with out unhooking bottom bungie cord? Do you see any problems using the s-hook of the band to hook it directly to the angle iron mounts of the garage door rail? Assuming they are bolted directly into a ceiling joist, it would seem to be equivalent to a separate eye-hook and eliminate the need to drill a hole. Additionally, do you recommend a larger bag (9" ?) for a first-time user? I'm thinking of getting my 15 year old son one of these but he's never used one before.

  • @csquaredboxing

    @csquaredboxing

    I don’t see a problem with that and it will offer enough support as long as to a ceiling joist. 100 lb bag minimum but I prefer 135-150 so it stays a little more stationary

    Is the single rubber bungee cord on each end sufficient? I've seen others use 2 bungees like that on the bottom and trimmed and tied (no hooks) bungee cord on the top with double layers. Also, do you feel you need the full 45 lb. plate? I bought a 25 lb. one with this project in mind. I wish now I had gone ahead and got the 45 as I bought it at a clearance sale.

    I really want something to practice boxing (better than the wall, is what my knuckles would say) but I'm quite afraid of not being able to find a joist or that they are too weak, the contractors did a rather poor job on our house, it shows in a lot of areas (my bathroom's roof isn't even if a material that doesn't retain moisture). So even when I can't buy it yet I'm nervous if I do I may have trouble installing it.

    **EDIT** Bout to install my double end bag now. I bought a ringside double end bag online and it’s blue and white. I dont know anything about them but I do know that it doesn’t hold air too well but that could also be because i didn’t fill it up 100% and it sat in a cold room for a few days. If I notice any air being leaked out later on once installed I’ll try to remember to edit my comment but it’s not totally flat and could be the AC I turned on. *EDIT* Installed two hours ago but it’s late and didn’t really get to use it and probably won’t until Monday which is 3 days away (from this comment) but things to note so far I filled it up to what I believe to be “full” or at least where I’m comfy with it being lol and it’s holding air (it’s only been two hours, when I noticed it it wasn’t full and had sat for a few days) When I hung mine, I felt it was too tight and I wouldn’t be able to practice head movement and I was also afraid the metal bungee hooks would eventually wear out the bag straps and break them. I fixed this by tying some rope on both ends of the bag straps and hook the bungees around those rope ends instead of the leather bag straps. This added length and a lot more play in it and I feel like I can use it now. I used a 20lbs dumbbell to hold it down and I needed more weight. 40lbs will work (for my set up) but 45lbs would be great I feel. I also learned that it is not as easy as it looks haha I’m wanting to learn with just hand wraps or mma gloves on to make it harder for me but it would be easier if you’re brand new to use boxing gloves because you’re more likely to hit the bag with them on lol So far I’m pretty stoked. Seems like it’s hard but not too hard to learn. If I have any updates Monday I’ll add them if I remember haha *EDIT* I emailed ringside about the air leaking out and got this email back from them “Hello, that's actually normal for latex bladders to need filled every few days. A note regarding bladders: Latex rubber is a porous material, and air will escape with each use. Thus, the bag may require light inflation every couple of days. Although frequent inflation may be required, latex bladders far outperform other bladder options. Butyl rubber bladders are heavy and slow. Plastic bladders are oblong and don’t provide a consistent rebound. Sincerely, Customer Care”
